Conair Cord Keeper Hair Dryer 1875 Watt 169BIW

I have been using this dryer where I am staying, at a hotel on vacation and really like it. That is what inspired me to see if Amazon sold it, so I ordered it. For my purposes, it’s one of the best I’ve found. I have fine hair that breaks easily but usually need to wash it every day (using filtered water, mix in a teaspoon of Griffin Remedy shampoo into the water, and small amount of Griffin Remedy conditioner after). I blow dry. This dryer has a nice fairly coolish warm setting. It has the cool button to push in, which with this dryer, I don’t need. I like the retractable cord and it is maybe about a pound in weight. Nice then, for daily or frequent use. A comparison: Another dryer I ordered not long ago is also a nice one, the Elchim, from Amazon. But it is heavier, maybe 2 lbs, has the cool push button and a warm setting that is a little too warm for my every day use. Trying to keep the cool push button pressed in for my daily use is a bit of a hassle. It has no ability to retract the cord. But still seems to be a good quality dryer. Problem with delivery date: I ordered this product while away, counting on the delivery date amazon said it would be delivered which would be after we got home. Especially since this dryer isn’t cheap. I was not happy to see that they delivered early and hope the package will be there when we return. I haven’t yet figured out how to specify a delivery date which used to be an option in the past. I even searched options to change delivery date after test ordering another item and couldn’t locate it. I waited to order this dryer to get a later delivery date. Amazon, please make delivery date options more readily accessible and user friendly. Otherwise, I really appreciate the Amazon delivery efficiency all the other times. Read more

I have had the cheaper blue version of this Conair dryer for years and its cord retractor would slowly get dysfunctional, and I'd buy a new dryer. Last time I turned to the Andis dryer with its foldable handle and cord retractor....initially I liked it more, with its much more powerful cord retractor, but after 6 months, the folding handle broke. Andis said they have stopped making it, so they let me pick another of their products as a warranty replacement....good customer service there. For my next dryer, I went back to Conair and got this ionic dryer with folding handle and cord retractor. It is double the price of their blue one, but so far, it is really impressive...the dryer is excellent, the handle folds easily, and the cord retractor is smooth and adequately powerful. This hairdryer is so good that after buying one for myself, I purchased another for the guest bathroom. It's compact, has high and low heat, the retractable cord goes in smoothly, and it folds in half, fitting easily into the drawer. Great product! Read more

It works well and is a little quieter than the last one. It also doubles as a fine cat deterrent. You should see them run when I pull out the cord to use it. It looks like a Loony Tunes cartoon!! I get the bathroom to myself that way and it’s much less bulky than dragging out the vacuum. Mission accomplished. Read more

The media could not be loaded. I have a ton of hair that takes a while to dry. I need a good hair dryer. I feel like this one dried my hair in a decent amount of time! It's lightweight with is definitely a plus. It's a little big and clunky, but that's not a deal vreak, it's still easy to hold on to. The force and heat level are good. However, if you want a hair dryer that screams at you, this is it! Holy smokes it's loud! I'm tempted to return it because it's so loud. I do love that it folds and the cord wraps up inside with the click of a button! There are definitely more pros than cons, but the con sure is a loud one... Read more

These hair dryers only seem to last just past the 2yr warranty, but I keep buying them. I like the cord retractor, but it fails at random times. What usually is the fatal defect is the GFCI plug at the end. I end removing it and adding a standard plug. sometimes. Hard to find an 1875-Watt dryer with the folding handle and a retractable cord. That's why I keep replacing the dead ones. Read more
