Product review for Contigo Replacement Filter for Wells Water Bottle with Filtration Straw, Personal Water Filter Straw, Washable and Lasts 3-5 Months This replacement filter fit perfectly in my contigo filter bottle (product : Contigo Wells Plastic Filter Water Bottle with AUTOSPOUT Straw Lid and Wells Replacement Filter, 24 Oz. Dark Ice). I have used this (same type) filter that came with the bottle for last several months. It doesn't change the taste of water but comes with carbon filters to remove chlorine and bad odor (thankfully I did not have to deal with that). The only con is the sell price for the replacement filter is steep, it is over 15 bucks at the time of this review and for use of 50 gallons it comes about 30 cent/gal. Even though store brand mineral water is more expensive, it comes clean compared to this filter that removes only chlorine and odor. However, if you are traveling or camping and do not know the water condition, this filters come in a great use. Read more

I have had my Contigo Wells water filter bottle since January. I don't use it every day, because my family has a reverse osmosis water filter system installed at our sink, and when we aren't at home we still prefer to use bottled water (Since bottled water has usually also been treated with a reverse osmosis system). The filter in this Contigo bottle will never give you water that is as pure as reverse osmosis-filtered water, but it's much better than nothing. It's about the same as what you get with a Brita filter. It will remove chlorine and other chemicals that can cause water to have a bad odor or taste. I take this bottle with me when I'm going to my office of some other place where I might not have access to bottled water. It is very effective at making normal tap water taste great. Although the filter that came with it isn't ready to be replaced yet, I went ahead and ordered this new filter so I would have an extra on hand. The filters for these bottles are kind of expensive, but unless you use this bottle as your primary source of drinking water, it will last a long time. I had the old plastic refillable filtered water bottle made by this company and I used it so much everyday , everywhere I went I had clean filtered water . During one of our many PCS moves I lost parts I needed for it and just recently replaced it with the newer better upgraded 2.0 version and it’s fantastic . Iv really happy to have my reusable filtered water bottle again and just got this replacement filter for it today. I installed it and ran a bottle of water thru it to prep it and it’s ready to go now for a whole lot of uses . I’m so happy not using single use plastics . Please keep making the filters so I can keep reducing the amount of single use plastic water bottles . Honestly I wish tap water tasted better but at least with this it does . Read more
