There’s something about a little bit of heat in this eye mask that makes it really soothing. I only use it on the low temperature setting. I also haven’t used it for general sleep. I find that an eye mask without a battery and heater would be better for overnight use. But before I go to bed I like to pop this on. And also occasionally during the day if I feel the urge. Nice! Heated Eye Mask - Cordless Review The fabric of this mask is so soft and when combined with the gentle heat this mask produces it has a very soothing feel. The cover comes off to be washed when needed but first remove the heater pad inside of the mask. The mask is rechargeable with the included cable. You wear the mask just by itself and when the battery gets low you then plug in the cable (included) to the transformer (not included). So when wearing the mask you don’t have any wires coming from the mask. There is an adjustable strap to insure a good fit for everyone. There isn’t any odor from this mask. The heat is gentle and feels comforting to your eyes and it is relaxing to use. There are three heat settings and personally I think the lower temperature is best. It is easy to turn on and off and change the heat setting with the push of a button on the mask. It is a comfortable sensation to wear this mask. This heated eye mask is very soothing for tired eyes, and claims to relieve dry eye. Dry eyes are not something I suffer from, but eye fatigue is something I am familiar with. The science behind the heated mask relieving dry eye claims that if your dry eyes are caused by clogged oil glands, the application of heat can soften the oil in the glands. I leave it to you and your eye doctor to determine if this is the right treatment for your particular condition. In articles I have read, the ideal temperature to treat dry eye due to clogged oil glands ranges from 89.6ºF (32ºC) to 113ºF (45ºC) This mask offers heat ranges higher than this range. High setting ranges from 128F to 140F. Medium Setting is from 116F to 127F. Low setting is 105F to 115F. I have read that Applying temperatures of 113F to the outer eyelid may cause damage to the skin, so I would recommend consulting with your physician prior to using the mask at a setting above the low setting, and not using for more than 10 minutes twice a day.
