The silicone bristles are actually very soft. My last BBQ brush started losing bristles and I wasn’t sure if I’d like a silicone brush but it is really quite nice. The product is well built; solid frame and handle. Nice and comfortable in the hand. The shredding surface is a little more aggressive than another one I was using mostly for garlic, but it works and cleans up easily. I find it easier to use for garlic and ginger root than the Microplane style shredders. For Parmesan cheese grating, it works perfectly.
