It's easy to operate, and I love listening to it. The reading voices are very clear and easy to understand, and it has a good speaker installed. I just have to learn to convert the books of the Bible to their numerical listening index, which isn't difficult, and besides, they include a copy in the user manual. I like that I can fall asleep listening to the Bible being read at night, and have it play all night while I'm sleeping, instead of the television or radio. I can put it in a loop so that it plays a particular chapter, or book, over and over all night, or will play straight thru the testament I choose. To do this I press the loop button 1, 2 or 3 times, and a corresponding number will show in the led readout. I hope that in the future the makers will include an option to choose a random range to listen to in a loop, e.g. Mark 2 - John 3. Also, it needs better earbuds; the ones included are pretty cheap, and I don't know how anyone can keep them in their ears. Luckily though, the earbuds is easy to remedy by just purchasing a better set. The battery life is really good and probably lasts about 12 hours. I've played mine several hours consecutively at night and I only used about 50% to 70% of the battery power. Also, I can play it through my vehicle radio while driving, via the auxiliary input, or just turn the volume up on the device and listen. I do, whole heartedly recommend this product. Bought this for a 63 year old homeless man who could not read very well. He loves it & is helping him learn the Bible. He was recently born again. The quality of the machine & the sound are both excellent. The small size makes it easy for him to carry in his pocket. He listens to it several hours a day & it stays charged for several days! I bought TWO of them. And am recommending them to friends. I read my Bible but bought these to run in my apt 24/7 - upstairs and downstairs. Battery life is long. I am thankful I found this model because most are KJV and even though I'm not listening, sometimes I do if my phone is in a different room (and thus my worship play list on Spotify,) and if I am listening I prefer NIV to KJV. I'd found the Wonder BIble, but many people said the reading of it was overly dramatized and annoying. Originally I'd bought 2 MP3 players, but decided to return them for audio Bibles. One reason is because of the variance in the tone and volume of separately recorded songs (iTunes etc - high pitches of Lauren Daigle vs lower ones of Shane & Shane for instance) so the contrast to the reader on this device is very pleasant. Whoever is doing the reading here has a beautiful, sonorous, well-modulated tone that is even soothing when I can just barely hear it playing in the other room. Read more
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I just love this bible. I have owned several other audio bibles and this is the best. There is a slight learning curve but once you understand how easy it is to move thru the books and chapters, it's so easy. The speaker is very calming. He reads at a very comfortable speed with just the right amount of inflection in his voice. I would highly recommend this audio bible to anyone who loves the bible. Functionality: Easy to use. I got this because I like to listen to the bible as I fall asleep and then "hear" as I sleep. I also wanted it for when I travel by air. The volume is good and the battery life is excellent. Once I learned how to navigate the menu it was fine. Not too tough. For traveling purposes I would have liked it to be a tad smaller. I liked having only the narrator's voice instead of having background music as well. While the narrator's voice is clear and easy to listen to, I do find him to be a bit staccato in his speech. It's kind of hard to tell by the picture and description what the housing is made of. It is all plastic and stamped "made in china" on the back. While not overly cheap looking, it also is reminiscent of, for say, a child's radio. One other person commented on this and I do think that the price could be a little lower because of this. This talking Bible is perfect and everything I hoped it would be. It is easy to navigate and picks up right where you left off when you turn it off and back on. I find that it really helps for studying the Bible. I personally like to listen to it at night when I am going to bed. It has a super long battery life. I had to contact their customer service when I first got it because I had a question and they were prompt and super helpful. I advise this for any Bible aficionado both young and old. Read more
