Dalstrong 12-Piece Professional Knife Block Set - Shadow Black Series - Black Titanium Nitride Coated - High-Carbon Stainless

Little to really explain here. I started out with a Fillet Knife that I had picked up for it's futuristic design and I enjoyed using it, so Eventually I got a full set. I only cook as a hobby and to feed myself, not professionally but I have to say these knives are wonderful to use, a tall upgrade from my previous set and a well worth it investment in my hobby. Ingredients that I normally got pre diced or sliced I now get in their raw form just for the satisfaction of properly preparing them myself with ease. It even is more fun than a necessity if you have a blade that can hold it's edge and is sharp enough for you to blaze through your produce like that. While my old set was just 'some knives' to me, I am feeling a sense of pride in my kitchen equipment now. We absolutely love these knives! When we received them the block itself had a minor flaw and we emailed the company to ask for a replacement block, they couldn’t send us just a block but they offered a gift card for 20% of the cost of the entire set! There is nothing wrong with them just a cosmetic flaw but they wanted to make sure to make it right. They cut like butter, the grip is great! The customer service was absolutely amazing! This is my 3rd Dalstrong knife Set, I bought one set for a relative whom was impressed with their quality and sharpness. For the price these are surprisingly good knives, I have been using a previous set for a year and have no complaints and they are still as sharp as the day I bought them. These knives are very well made with a lightweight and perfect curvature handle. My only disappointment is...I had already purchased their entire set of non-black series and now....well I have to have these black ones :) I also purchased the Zelite Infinity series (shown on 3rd image) which are very well made but Dalstrong does a better presentation from their video presentation all the way to opening the box. Look wise the knives look good. I opened them all up when I received them to wash and dry the. To my surprise I found one blade with about an inch of damage right in the middle of the blade. I fell in love more with the photos on amazon! product is not better in person for my personal opinion. I was disappointed during the unwrapping to find the knife handles to have a whiteish over coat, they are not jet black as photos seemed. Also the knife block, though nice in weight, I was still taken back when seeing that it reflected the metric designs in a light grey color, and the dalstrong logo to be gold. I thought I was buying an all black series and ended up with grey, black and a hint of gold. I would have liked to see more realistic photos and i would have not purchased this edition. Read more
