Seems like it will last a life time and was hilariously well packaged. While the brand as a whole seems a bit tacky with the edgy early 2000's "bachelor" aesthetic the build quality is good and there are a few other items I am actually considering. Read more
Substantial (solid) handle (like a knife handle).. Upon close inspection it’s some kind of hard quality plastic that doesn’t feel or look plastic/rubbery in the slightest. There is a fine texture to the handle that really does make for a solid grip, and the frame is satisfyingly rugged too.. The grating foil (part) looks about the same as other razor graters, and the sharpening is absolutely perfect (I recently returned to other brand graters for having burrs/defects on the sharpening). The protective cover, as is the offset rubber on the opposite end, both increase functionality (over the top 5-stars).. One of the problems I know about with the razor foil (all brands), they tend to be thin enough to flex when in use.. Combine the flexing with the fact the metal is hardened (hardened so it can take a sharp edge), and it may be prone to cracking over-time from flexing during use. Only time will tell. But I also noticed the razor grating part is on a slight arch, which increases strength and minimizes the flexing.. but note the sharpness means you don’t need to push hard which causes flexing (great engineering).. Also, graters as sharp as razor blades make me a little nervous, but the dull ones make you push harder which makes them dangerous too (you need to pay attention to what you’re doing). Even if it breaks after a while, I would buy another one (unless in the real world it breaks too quickly.. which doesn’t appear to be a problem in the reviews.. unless this is too new idk).. I bought this grater to grate cheese that I buy in bulk. I hope to no longer buy pre-grated cheese because I feel it is an inferior product. I had recently purchased a highly rated hand crank grater and immediately knew that I didn’t like it. The cheese clumped up in it and it took quite a while to grate 12 oz of cheese. Then, I had to take that grater all apart to clean it and then find a place to store it as well. I packed it up to give to my local goodwill and looked again for another grater. I decided on this one and I must tell you that I am so pleased!! I grated 16 oz of PepperJack cheese in just a few short minutes with very little effort! And, I was using my right arm that I am still rehabbing from shoulder surgery! This grater is very sharp and needs to be used and stored with respect! Worth the price and is the best shredder I've purchased and I've tried most. This one is easy and comfortable to hold and I love how it hasn't fallen apart after being in the dishwasher as most shredders usually do. I shred blocks of cheese daily and this is my favorite out of my collection. Read more
Like other reviewers mine fell apart after a few uses. Initially, this worked great. It was expensive, but I think quality tools are worth it. It comes in very nice packaging which seems to speak to a quality item. And, again, it worked great for a few weeks, but then it seems like the teeth became less effective…almost like they were flattening. And today, it just completely fell apart after 3 months of use. And this wasn’t my first one. I was a sucker buying this twice thinking the first one I had was a lemon. Nope, stay away. Same story with the narrow zester. Very disappointed. Read more
Value is good if used often. Ease of use is great, Grating ability is excellent, works well. Easy to clean. Design could be a little more rigid, but so far the welds are holding up. For the price, it should last forever, but I have my doubt. I only have 20 uses out of it so far. Read more
I bought 1 grater to replace one I had. I loved it so much I bought the other 4. I never buy already shredded cheese but prefer to grate them myself to assure I have the purest product with no preservatives. These graters are very sharp. A block of cheese can be grated quickly. There is no need to press down on the grater, which can cause it to bend in the center. They are a little pricey but I expect to get a lot of use out of them. Read more
