Been using a month for most things I cut in kitchen. Used my last ulu to cut/slice almost everything, but lost it during a move. Really missed it a lot and OMG almost forgot how fantastic this brand and model is! Came from box in perfect condition as usual - very clean and extremely sharp. Has a hefty weight that’s distributed so evenly it feels powerful in the hand, yet slices through everything so easily and fast it prevents hand/wrist fatigue. Using an ulu takes practice if you’re not used to them, but once learned, I consider them easiest knife to use for so many things. When cleaning this one first before using it, I promptly sliced a finger because I forgot how sharp and evenly weighted they are! LOL. So be very careful opening and cleaning it. The sheath is perfect, safe and durable. I love the simple, elegant packaging in which you can store ulu between uses if you want, but only after cleaning it properly and air drying completely. I like it, it's a nice design and the blade seems to be of good quality while also being sharp. The sheath fits and functions as it should. The downside is the blade will rattle a little when you shake it by the handle. I was under the impression that the blade and piece between the riveted "handle" was all one piece, especially at this price point, but it is obviously not. So minus the rivets holding it all together it is apparently 4 pieces and not just 3, as in 1 solid piece riveted in-between 2 handle pieces, and for that it doesn't deserve 5 stars. Perhaps 4.5 if it were about $20-$30 less. That's because it does rattle the blade "only", when shaking your wrist while holding it normally. I use this mainly as a pizza cutter, as I'm tired of the corrosion or blades falling off of cheap handles. I will be keeping this blade and hopefully it'll last for a long time. Read more

I bought this because I have lost hand mobility. Cooking is what makes me happy and I refuse to give it up. The Ulu is suggested for people with hand mobility/arthritis issues. I bought this one because it looked sturdy and a good size. I was not disappointed. It feels good in the hand, with a nice heft and balance. I look forward to using it daily in the kitchen. (and defending the household from Zombies if need be). Read more

Pretty sharp and handy tool. There are some sharp corners when using, would have been better to have rounded edges. I have not had to sharpen it yet, so no comment on that procedure. Read more
