Darn Tough socks are the only socks that I wear. The merino is soft and durable. I like the cushion of these tactical socks. I wear them pretty much during all of the colder months and also on hikes. They keep my feet cool and dry when hot and nice and warm when the temperatures are chilly. I wash them in the washer using wool friendly detergent and hang them to dry. I love these socks, well made and guaranteed. Pricy but worth it. I suggest getting full cushion which just means the top and bottom of foot area is cushioned. I have mediums so if you are looking for more warmth you'll need a different category of these. They are NOT thin socks like your dad's or grandads depending on your age (im a grandad for context). Albeit, I’ve only had my two pair for about a week but my initial review is, “these socks are freaking OUTSTANDING!” I keep them up and away from the puppy, however they may replace them if she were to rip or try ripping them apart.. lol. I’m not taking the chance though. I’m prone to blisters on my feet. So, I wore these socks power washing my deck and concrete. My Blackhawk boots that I paired them with are not waterproof. The boots were pretty soaked once I was finished. However, I didn’t change them and immediately started push mowing an acre of grass. My feet never felt wet and I didn’t get a single hotspot. Keep in mind that I wore my same boots with military issue wool socks just mowing and weed whacking about two weeks prior and got a big ole nasty blister on my heal. I put in anywhere from 4-6 hours of work when I’m working around the house. Preliminary find are very favorable and I would recommend these to anyone. If they continue to preform like this for the rest of my life, the cost of a pair of these will far outweigh the cost of the blister bandaids that I would have used! I love the fact that they are made in the USA. Coincidentally, our vacation in 2022 will take us within seventy miles of their production and factory outlet! My family and I are taking a day to visit the factory and outlet store after we finish our Ben & Jerry’s factory tour.. lol. The wide variety of designs and types of socks that they make coupled with a lifetime guarantee and being made in the USA, makes me start having a sort of bromance with the Darn Tough company. I will buy every family member who attends the factory tour with me one pair of their favorite socks..lol!
