It's loud on high, barely audible on low. If you can bare the hum on high it will greatly improve air quality. Learned this through experience. Like any filtration system, the only flaw with filtering is circulation. You can never put a filter in a corner, obstruct circulation with furniture or expect instant results. That being said, if competing next to others, this filter will leave a room smelling like fresh paint. This little unit has done a lot of work for my church choir! Purchased during covid, it was used in a makeshift recording studio for individual tracks for a virtual choir video. I just got a new cat who adopted our family by leaving his previous home. I'm 100% allergic to cats. Since I bought this Air Purifier by Filter Queen, I'm breathing normally even with the cat in the room. It does an excellent job of capturing cat hair and dander. I'm waiting to see how it handles normal dust collection. I have had a cough caused by allergies for a few months, the cough is also beginning to go away since I bought this. This is, by far, the best air purifier I have ever used. I have tried Holmes, Filtrete etc... and this is the best HEPA class purifier in terms of build quality, efficiency, and effectiveness. It is also very quiet, or extremely powerful when you want it to be. To top it off, this is a US made product! So too, remember to buy the OEM filters here -- and avoid the aftermarket filters. None of the aftermarket HEPA or carbon filters have an official medical grade rating like these filters do. Read more

So far this unit cleans the air of dust particles and allergens quite well. They have high ratings and good reports. But they are some times sold in a deceptive manner by traveling salesmen at high prices. I was glad to find this one at a good price. The filter which are costly will need changing yearly. Read more

Fantastic air purifier! I bought it to set on top of a cabinet that houses my cats litter box. Completely eliminated all odors, not to mention my entire 3rd floor has significantly less dust than before. Saras Vac Shack is second to none ! I would have never known it was Refurbished.
