We recently got a mini schnauzer puppy a couple of months ago. I am highly allergic to most dogs and all cats. Even though the schnauzer is considered hypoallergenic, I know that no dog is truly hypoallergenic. We have a small 880 foot condo and keep her crate in the living room. Starting on the first evening we had her, my allergies started to flare up, as well as my wife's. This was not acceptable. I originally had a levoit large room purifier but knew it was time to step it up. After perusing Amazon reviews, I decided on the Alen Breathe smart i45. A major plus to this unit was the air sensor which automatically adjusts speed and intensity based upon air quality. When I first got it, I immediately plugged it in and it got to work. The air quality light showed red and it continued running at high intensity for several hours and I saw the air quality improving. After a day or two, my allergy symptoms were completely gone. I was ecstatic! This purifier is meant to run 24/7, so that is what I do. It is a LIFESAVER! Now we can co exist with our four legged friend in peace. Make sure to register on their site for the lifetime warranty activation. I also signed up for the filter subscription as it makes things easier than having to manually order. I would recommend this purifier to anyone who has allergies and/or wants better air quality! Can't give this thing enough praise. Note: Few comments here recommend the gosund app for wifi monitoring. While I tried doing so and it did work, I quickly cancelled the connection and deleted the gosund app. I think it's a security risk to give some unknown app your WiFi network password, and also when I contacted Alen, they said there is no app right now for monitoring purposes. The wifi capability is for remote troubleshooting if issues arise. So I recommend not using any third party app with the purifier. Read more

we have two of these and i love them! they’re more sensitive than other brands and i love being able to check on things and control from my phone. but what really prompted me to write is the packaging. honestly, someone has been so thoughtful about the design it deserves mention. the box is simple to open, there’s no electrified styrofoam everywhere, the machine is light and super simple to set up. and when i went to break down the cardboard this morning, there’s not even the need for a knife! i have also used their support before for a question and they’re responsive and thorough. It was summer in Seattle and the blooming things were exploding with delight, unleashing a blanket of pollen on the city and providing job security for the makers of Sudafed. I'd grown weary of sneezing myself to sleep at night and of constantly vacuuming up dust. It was the summer I turned to air purification for my salvation. I bought the Alen 45i on the recommendation of Consumer Reports. After a few initial hours on turbo, it settled into a quiet cycle on auto mode and I haven't had to touch it since. Pretty quickly, my dust level was significantly diminished and I was sleeping better. I found that when I walked downstairs in the morning I would immediately start sneezing, so I ended up purchasing the larger 75i for my living room (probably overkill for my space; it's a gigantic beast). Both units are extremely quiet unless they're on turbo — but they call it turbo for a reason — and they're super-easy to setup and use. They also look nice, and I like that you can turn off the display light on the 45i so it doesn't cast unnecessary light in the bedroom at night. So far so good on the filter, though I haven't had it long enough to say whether it's as long-lasting as claimed. Assuming it continues to perform I think it's worth the investment for cleaner air and better sleep. Read more

I try not to write reviews until some time has passed and it’s been about 8 months since we purchased this and couldn’t be more happy. Initial Impression: The presentation was great with a creative front opening box which made it easy to pull out and no fuss of wedging it through the top like any large item. We got it all set up and set it to auto and took it for it’s first spin! It started off like any air purifier running a mod speed until it stated to room was clean... here is the fun part, our toddler had a smelly surprise for us! The moment I opened her diaper (20 feet away) this baby turned red and kicked into high gear. We were overly impressed! This thing was a fart snitch since day one lol. It always kicks on when we cook or the smog is bad (we live in LA) which is pretty often. It’s just nice to know we are breathing cleaner air inside. *Side note, we have a medically fragile child who has had a few heart surgeries and experienced a collapse lung so also has respiratory issues. She was noticeably better when we purchase this device. Warranty and a customer service: We recently had the sensor reading red aka dirty for a couple weeks straight. It was odd because we loved to San Diego which has much cleaner air and tested this in small isolated rooms showing the same issue. Upon contacting support they confirmed that some of the 45i units had an issue with a dirty sensor and would send a cleaning kit free of charge. We received the lot within a few days but it was still having the same issues. What did they do??? They offered us a free upgrade to a 75i!!! WHAT? This was by far the best warranty (at no additional cost) I’ve ever seen. The new unit arrived within a few days and here we are happy as can be with a fast/stronger device cleaning our home. Conclusion: I’m so happy with this purchase that I made this loooong review just to make sure any potential buyer knows it’s worth! Our medically fragile toddler sleeps so much better with this in our home and the same goes for my allergies. Definitely worth spending the extra money! Read more
