I've had many Dell products over the years and expected another excellent product. I needed a strong workhorse with power and portability for work and this compact i7 seemed to be just what would serve that purpose. However, I was disappointed with this one. I bought this laptop two years ago and have had trouble with it from day one. There are three primary issues that, even though returned for repair, continue to this day as follows: (1) Intermittently, the screen does not come back on after sleep mode and nothing makes the display return to normal behavior except a hard reboot, (2) More frequently than the first problem, the keyboard does not respond after sleep mode. Fortunately, at least with this issue, it can be plugged into my Dell Dock to make it work so I don't have to do a hard reboot it. This happens so frequently that I had to buy an external bluetooth keyboard. The most frequent problem, however, is that it has trouble entering sleep mode. It is configured to go to sleep when closing the lid. This feature has never worked no matter how many times I've reset the configuration. The only sequence that works is to force it by using the keyboard sleep command (Fn + End) but this only works on the first try 25% of the time. Most often, that sequence has to be repeated one or two more times before it works. Not long after buying it, I sent it to Dell complaining of these three problems. They kept it for two weeks and replaced the motherboard. Nothing changed. It behaved exactly as before. So, since it was more than $2,500 at the time, I've kept it and limped on.
