The media could not be loaded. very well packed for shipping. instructions detailed, in tiny font but legible. was hesitant about “refurbished” but looks and works like new. grinder fineness dial under the top lid was set to 3 when it arrived. that was too fine, the water didn’t get through the ground coffee disc and backed up, making a mess in and around the machine on first use. cleaned that up and set to 4. that’s worked well since with no spillage. the tray needs to be drained of water every day, ditto emptying the spent coffee grounds. running trader joe’s and peet’s beans. haven’t tried the milk frother yet. super happy with the purchase, and the cost is more than offset by savings on starbucks. I purchased this espresso machine less than six months ago, and it has already stopped working. When I contacted customer service, they were unable to help troubleshoot or fix the issue. Instead, they referred me to a third-party repair service that charged me $60—and the machine was still not fixed. I also purchased the Asurion three-year protection plan. I have now submitted the required claim three separate times, and each time it has been rejected. The only explanation given is that I am “missing documentation,” yet they refuse to specify what is missing. I am fully capable of completing forms correctly and submitted every receipt and document they requested—multiple times. This process has been incredibly frustrating, time-consuming, and unhelpful. Between the broken machine, the useless third-party repair, and the denied protection plan, I am left with nothing but wasted money. Do not buy this machine. Do not buy the Asurion protection plan. The media could not be loaded. This is a great machine, and makes good coffee and coffee drinks. I usually use it for coffee, and save the milk frothing for the weekend. The milk frothing is nice and the pieces easy to clean, but a little much for me on a daily basis when I’m in a rush. Things I like: Coffee is good and fresh due to the grinding. Machine is worth the investment in my opinion. Things to consider: It’s not super quiet, but the noise doesn’t bother me, see video. The coffee isn’t super hot. The machine cleans itself before and after each use. I put a cup to catch it so I don’t have to clean the drip tray as often. Things that I find mildly annoying: The water container is small and needs filling constantly. It will make a half serving if it runs out of water. The beans last a while in the hopper, but again, if it runs out it will make a drink using whatever beans were left - even if not a full quantity making the drink a throwaway. Read more

I purchased this certified refurbished on black Friday. Firtsly, the tape used secure the sections left residue EVERYWHERE. Secondly, I followed step by step instructions for assessmenly. When turning on, it made a loud beeping sound, with a red exclamation point in a triangle which signals and error. Then it turned itself off. I tried following the troubleshooting instructions but nothing worked. It also left coffee peices everywhere, showing the seller did not clean it prior to shipping or refurbishing.
