Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is a fantastic follow-up that builds on everything that made the original game enjoyable and takes it to a whole new level. It’s not just a rehash — this sequel delivers more refined combat, expanded content, and a deeper connection to the anime’s later arcs, particularly the Entertainment District and Swordsmith Village. For fans of the series, this is easily one of the most immersive anime-based games available on the Nintendo Switch. The story mode is one of the highlights. It captures the emotional weight and thrilling battles from the anime with care and precision. The cutscenes are beautifully animated, with voice acting and music that bring each moment to life. Whether you're reliving Tanjiro’s battles or watching pivotal scenes unfold in dramatic fashion, the narrative flows smoothly and stays true to the source material. It’s not just fan service—it’s meaningful storytelling that enhances the experience of being part of the Demon Slayer world. Combat has seen major improvements. It feels smoother and more tactical than the first game. There’s more variety in combos, better pacing in battles, and a more balanced fighting system overall. Each character feels distinct, with unique special moves and ultimate attacks that are visually impressive without feeling overdone. The addition of new characters from the latest anime arcs — including the flashy and powerful Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui and the fearsome Upper Rank demons — adds even more variety and excitement. Multiplayer options are stronger this time around. Whether you're playing locally or online, the versus mode offers a lot of depth. You can experiment with different team combinations, test your skills in ranked matches, or just enjoy casual battles. There’s also a training mode that’s actually helpful for learning new mechanics or mastering combos, which is great for newcomers and veterans alike. Despite being on the Switch, the game runs surprisingly well. The visuals have been optimized nicely, and the frame rate remains stable, even during fast-paced battles with lots of effects on screen. The controls are responsive, the interface is clean, and load times are minimal. It’s impressive how much content and quality has been packed into this version without sacrificing performance. Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2 isn’t just a great anime game—it’s a strong fighting game in its own right. It’s accessible without being shallow, cinematic without feeling like it’s on rails, and clearly made with care by developers who understand what fans want. Whether you’re a longtime Demon Slayer fan or just looking for an exciting action fighter with a compelling story, this is one of the best choices currently on the platform. 5 out of 5 stars. A faithful, exciting, and content-rich experience that exceeds expectations. Read more

This game is even better than the first one. The gameplay has improved and the graphics are beautiful. Much more content has been added as well i.e gears, unlockable costumes for characters, alternative finishing moves and so much more. The roster is significantly larger. With the 3 new movies coming out, I'll be excited to purchase the DLC as well. With more characters and their variations, plus the extra content and online battles, there's a lot to do so it's easy to stay entertained. The game game with a code where I got 2 hashiras for FREE. That's almost as smooth as the gameplay. If you have siblings... this is a great game to showcase your dominance. I aim to irritate mine, lol. Anyways, I'd recommend this game, especially if you enjoyed the first one. Oh, and the story mode is even better than the first one as well. Read more

This is an amazing arena fighting game. The story mode captures the emotional weight and thrilling battles from the anime with care and precision. The animation and fighting styles have been improved. It also has a variety of characters to choose from. The addition of gears and dual ultimates makes it a more interesting game. Read more

I’m quite a fan of the anime, and I recently started getting into Kimetsu no Yaiba video games with Hinokami. I was very surprised to see that it picks up the best qualities of the Storm saga and takes the battle experience to the next level, allowing you to relive the best moments of the anime. As for the shipping logistics, I placed the order early in the morning on Monday, August 18, and it arrived on Friday, August 22 at 3 PM. I thought it was fast, although the tracking was very poor since updates stopped showing, and even now it still says it hasn’t been delivered. There was a clear disconnect between the carrier and Amazon. Overall, it’s an amazing game, highly recommended for all anime fans who enjoy video games. Plus, if you liked the Storm saga, you’re going to love this one. I’ve already ordered the first entry in this series. Read more

As a long time Demon Slayer fan I absolutely loved the first game, but this one makes it even better. Going from the Entertainment District Arc to the Training arc it really made this game an incredible experience. Graphically it looks amazing especially on the PS5 being able to play at 60 fps. A huge 40 character roster with some being able to do Ultimate Duo Finishers really adds to the game. The cutscenes are amazing almost making it identical to the anime. You would not be disappointed I highly recommend this to anyone who loves fighting games but also long time anime fans. Read more

Note: if it matters this game does nit contain the final battle. Otherwise, works well on the switch and is overall a very pleasant experience. If you have the first game, it's all that and a substantial amount of content. If you don't, it has a Cliff note version of the first game and first 1/3 of manga/animation. Read more
