So here’s what I found it installed and I played some, afterward I removed the disc and the installation disappeared. I think it has to do with how the PlayStation 5 handles background downloads. The solution I’ve found, turn off internet in your PlayStation 5 settings. Put in the disc, let it install everything/fully. When it’s complete, turn back on internet and hit menu button on the system icon for the game and check for an update. Let the update download and install the patch and you’re good to go. Have had a few issues with the game freezing and glitching like crazy but I believe it could be fixed with an update patch. Though, I cant help thinking that maybe its the ps5 itself since I have similar issues with all my games, both ps5 and ps4 games. But Dirt 5 is still quite fun to play despite the game randomly shutting off at times. Was super exited to try out split screen but it shuts the game off 90% of the time as soon as second player tries to join. Hopefully that can be resolved soon. And one of my biggest pet peeves of the game, thus why only 4 stars, is... its a dirt game! yet your vehicle hardly leaves a tire trail and you don't sink through mud like you would in real life. Was quite disappointed in that. Motorstorm for the ps3 had it down pat when it came to mud physics. All in all though, still very fun to play and pleasant to look at! Love the vehicle handling and the slight force feed back in the acceleration/braking with the ps5 controller is way cool! If you liked the other dirt games then you should like this one as well. This was by far the worst Dirt game produced. It’s nothing like what it was initially, and it seems like it was a rushed game and very poorly put together. Graphically speaking, there seem to have no enhancement for being a PS5 game. I would give it half a star/5 Read more

Well I was having fun with this game despite the sprint car racing which is horrible even in the very easy mode as many others have pointed out on forums already. Trophies aren’t popping and it seems there’s a nemesis after you in some races that’s always crashing into you while your trying to race. Graphics are nice and excluding the sprint car the other vehicles control well. I haven’t received the dlc preorder from Amazon yet either but they’ve been very good and even sent me another game which unfortunately didn’t have the dlc either. Now for the reason of a one star review. The game crashes at the end of races and you lose that progress from the race. This gets frustrating fast as it happens quite often unfortunately and then it crashed and it said my file was corrupted and the game was deleted so now I’m at the first race again. I was on the third day and level 38 with 3 medals in almost every race (again sprint cars) and near a million in purse money and numerous cars unlocked and now I’m at the beginning again. I’m not going to speculate on what I would have given if this wasn’t a broken mess because it is. I’m just trying to let gamers know what you could have in your future if you buy this too. Update 12/1 Trophies still not popping, cars disappearing while racing and crashing and corrupted files notifications more frequently happening. Sprint cars are still garbage as everyone who has tried it here confirms my opinion. Wait for this “Shift Show” on PlayStation Plus in 6 months as it’s not worth your money and still no preorder dlc Update 12/5 Still crashing, Frustration outweighs the fun Update 12/19 After patch - Some trophies have unlocked but game still crashing and sprint cars still garbage Update 2/17/21 No new patch and trophies still not unlocking Update 3/16/21 after patch I was able to finish trophies for platinum. Game still crashed but didn’t get corrupted files message anymore. Raising my score to 3 stars now. Game is fun and if you play it now you should miss out on the aggravation from earlier.
