I have smaller dogs and they love the toy but it isn't easy for them to roll it around to get the treats out of it. It actually confuses them. Granted, they aren't the brightest, but it requires some problem solving because just moving it around the floor won't get the treats to fall out. It just easily moves side to side. You have to push it as if to stand it up to get the treats out. This is a great intermediate toy if your dog loves the easy ones. It stands up to my super chewer that destoys everything. But they aren't getting the concept so while I love this super cute toy, it may not be filled with treats very often. For a dog that loves to figure out the puzzle toys, this would be perfect. I didn’t like this toy for my dog. It’s cute and feels very durable, but she had a hard time getting the food out and was never exactly successful because of the way it had to be flipped over completely in a move not natural to the shape of the toy. The size was great for her, she’s 60 lbs and it seemed sturdy. Just not a good fit for her. Read more

This is not a small toy. My 82 pound Great Pyrenees mix wanted to pick it up, and struggled in the approach. The bulk of the toy is hard plastic, with a hollow area for the snacks , and a screw top for moderating the dispensing. It is a pleasantly complete kit. it has two lids, a “key” to facilitate screwing them in, a scrub brush, and a set of instructions for using it with wet and dry food. I was relieved to have a dispensing toy with a straightforward path for cleaning. And the instructions were clear. You really have to consider the personality of your dog. And mine, when handed an item full of food, is to try to bust in, not nuzzle and roll it out. She is already a hard chewer, and I noticed when her gums showed signs of irritation. This is not a toy problem. This is a compatibility — and maybe supervision problem. If you have an an impatient hard chewer, you may want to start with wet food, supervision, or a different toy. Whether it was the hard plastic or the size of the toy, my dog didn't pay any attention to this toy. I stuffed it with his food and he didn't make any effort to get the food out of the toy. My guess is that the hard plastic surface made it difficult for him to grab ahold of it. Read more

I use this toy with my french bulldogs. They are not destructive chewers so toys like this last them a long time. I only use them with kibble right now and haven’t tried to fill them or freeze them. This toy holds enough of their kibble for a meal. I use it with my dogs who gulp food. It slows them down and gives them something to do while I work on other tasks. It’s important to note that this toys really only works with medium to small kibble. The large chow kibble gets stuck and doesn’t dispense well. Read more
