A solid game

Gerald K.November 11, 2025

Playing on normal, the game is surprisingly challenging. Had to wuss out and try easy for a while. It's deep, but not overly complicated. I loved the old games and I genuinely dig this one! Read more

it's a good Double Dragon game, Don't listen to IGN

Gfx Designer/GamerOctober 24, 2025

Fun game so far. The first stage music is a remix of the classic so that was nice to hear. The combos are fun and a lot more diverse than the reviews are showing. Sometimes the game feel a bit slow/clunky due to slow character animations or button input lag. This can be fixed in a update patch though. ( Reason for minus 1 star for now ) Also, Thanks to the Amazon workers for the release date delivery. Appreciate you. Read more

Where’s Bimmy?

Ruben GOctober 27, 2025

As a lifelong fan of double dragon since the NES era, it’s an understatement to say how much I’ve been looking forward to this game. Double dragon neon stands as one of the best in the series and double dragon Gaiden is an amazing beat em up/roguelite, But I don’t know what happened here. The gameplay is fun, don’t get me wrong…but why use Yukes? They made wrestling gams and their last game AEW wrestling was a full on mess and a letdown, but I remained optimistic. When I popped it in I was like wow these are beautiful graphics! And the collectors packaging is amazing, but that’s where the excitement stopped. The story is told through static images (really? For this series?) and the story is as bland and generic as humanly possible. But what I care about (the gameplay) is what hurts the most. It’s fun to pick up and play but it’s completely soulless. This game could’ve been called The street fighting brothers, And it would’ve been the exact same concept. There is no soul here, Not thag double dragons storylines were ever amazing but they do great fan service. This one throws you into the stage after the static images with repeat enemy encounter over and over again with horrendous platforming and incredibly misplaced difficulty spikes. I’m playing it through with my wife and with each chapter that passes I see that it’s never going to go further, not going to give anything but the most basic beat em up you could possibly play. As a beat em up it’s serviceable (at best) but as a double dragon game this is…bad, not terrible, but not good. The character all have the same powerups (dragon air punches) and there’s barely any reason to jump back on after going through the hour and a half long story mode. Get it on a steep sale, or just play through DD gaiden again because unfortunately this is a huge step back for the series as a whole. Give this back to way forward who knew how to revitalize the name and characters. I feel like I waited to play one of the worst titles in the series next to double dragon 3 and 4, Maybe next time Jimmy and Bimmy, maybe next time (4 out of 10 stars) (packaging 8 out of 20) Read more
