Great fun for 2-players! While this may not 100% satisfy the fans of the original Arcade DD 1 & 2 from days gone by, the ACTION is definitely there, controls are quite good (though I'm still learning), and it's just easy enough for players to just start having fun bashing through stages. Storylines are well, cheesy as you'd expect, but hey, original was just a punch, remember? So can't complain. Dialogues add to the dimension though some are a bit tedious, but if you're a loyal fan, you welcome this! Haven't played the DLC dodgeball yet but I appreciated this collector's box with original artworks. I would've appreciated move list printed so that players can reference that in-game instead of having to pause the game to look up moves. Read more

Collector's edition version. I say 2 out of 5 stars, because the pictures for the collector's edition are very misleading. I originally chose the collector's edition because I was under the impression it was not only coming with double dragon dodgeball and double dragon revive but that it was also going to have as part of the deluxe edition content all three of the original NES or arcade versions of the game and it most definitely does not. All they included was an alternative slipcover for the game that has the artwork from the first three games on it. Also included is a soundtrack on CD a couple of DLC codes for the deluxe edition which just gives you more playable characters and then of course the double dragon dodgeball game which I couldn't care less about, and what I'm assuming is the art book which they also let you download digitally. Had I known this going in I probably would have just bought the $35 base game and purchased the bonus characters separately at a later time when they're on sale. Quite disappointing in a day and age where franchises are releasing comprehensive collections of game titles and they easily could have done that with this and apparently chose not to. Also comes in a gigantic oversized box easily as tall as two and a half game cases laid on their side, and upon opening has a giant cardboard insert holding everything else in place and no real justification for doing so other than to keep the flimsy alternative slipcover flat and intact... Would have been far better off just putting that in as the game box case slipcover at this point. Hopefully the game is actually good because otherwise this was $55 wasted on something that may or may not even be worth the $35 price tag for the base game. Major disappointment and major fail Arcsoft. Was legit hoping that the CE would literally have included all three ports of the original arcade games that would have been amazing but nope just some dinky slipcover...pfft. Read more
