Everything I expect of DMs. They look great, fit true to size-- & of course, they should be very durable & last a long time. I really like the Chelsea style (no laces) & I'm really glad you can get classic Docs in that style. Since these are brand new, they are still in the break-in phase & thus are very stiff. However, like all Docs, after wearing them for a week or two they will break-in & become less stiff & more comfortable. This is my third pair, so I know what to expect now. Dr. Martens doesn't disappoint, my 3rd pair of shoes from them but a new style for me and they are a great fit. Absolutely no need to break this pair in, comfortable from the start. I got them in dark blue and they are some great looking and quality shoes. Read more

I owned the Chelsea Rommetty's before I purchased these. The two Chelsea styles are obviously made differently. For starters, I didn't even need to break in the Rommetty's (I highly recommend that style over any other doc style if it works in your wardrobe) and the stretch around the ankle is absolutely wonderful. However, this Chelsea boot is stiff at the ankle, it's almost unnecessary for it to have the mesh bit for additional stretch. I'm still breaking them in but I haven't had much opportunity to wear them since quarantine & summer started all at once. The Rommetty's are definitely better than these. Read more

I really wanted to like these boots. They're very sharp looking and well made, as I would expect from Dr.Marten's. But I just couldn't get my foot through the narrow opening without really forcing the issue. That difficulty gave me concern about the longevity of the goring with such treatment. I own other Dr. Marten Chelsea style boots, but for these - the leather was too rigid and they were a bit taller than the Oakfords, which I think was the root of my problem. That longer neck on the boots made it more difficult to get my foot in and turn it. If you can get your foot into them, they'd be great. Maybe they would have broken in and been okay, but I didn't want to risk it and just returned them instead. Read more
