Great Boot - See Comment

JPNovember 12, 2021

Overall-- Great Boot. This will be a detailed review, because I thought many other reviews were absolutely useless and unhelpful. I am a male, and had contacted the seller prior to ordering, because the title said "Women's Boot" (I understand this is a unisex boot) and I couldn't find healthy answers in the comments/questions sections. I ordered the size "12-12.5" in Gaucho Crazy Horse Brown. The seller informed me that this was indeed listed in MEN'S USA sizes, not women's sizes, so I purchased. Most of my shoe sizes are 12's, because a 12.5 almost doesn't exist. However, in many cases I wear 13 as well. The "12-12.5" listing is perfect, so order your baseline normal male size. The boot is roomy in the toe box, not tight fitting, which is how boots are supposed to fit. The Crazy Horse Leather is beautiful, although much darker than the pictures. I would easily classify this boot as a dark brown boot. For those unaware in the comments section, Crazy Horse Leather is a top of the line, full-grain oil/wax finished leather. This leather will easily scruff and scratch, and over time will develop a distressed look with a beautiful patina. If you don't want any scratches on your boots, don't get the crazy horse leather, unless you are fine buffing them out all the time. However, when they distress, a lighter copper color will emerge, creating an almost two-tone effect. This leather is exceptionally tough, and requires only minimal care with minimal wax. These boots also have a Good-Year Welt, creating an exceptionally durable, hard wearing boot. This welt is found on premium boots, eliminating the need for cheap gluing. This is my first pair of the "Chelsea" boot style, as I had previous only bought Lace-Ups, so the only thing I'm concerned about is the elastic on the sides, but time will tell (although my jeans always cover the elastic on sides anyways, I'm not a roll-up jean guy). For those saying the top of the boot is too narrow to get your foot in: you don't put these on like normal shoes. Angle your foot parallel as you enter, then twist the boot on straight. SUPER EASY. It takes two second to put these Chelsea's on rather than untying and tying lace-ups. As far as break-in, these are pretty much good to go out of the box. I'm getting a little stiffness on the very top of the uppers at my shin, but after a couple days of wear this will disappear. When wearing high socks it is barely noticeable now anyways. These are not dainty, thin & dressy boots. They are more for everyday wear, built wider and more rugged. I recommend. Read more

new favorite Docs

New favorite boots! I have a classic laced pair of Dr Martens but hate how long it takes to deal with the laces. This is better for my lifestyle and the cashew ambassador color is such a great autumnal shade. Meets somewhere between burgundy and brown. Read more

Good boots

Adam SunderlandJanuary 12, 2019

This is a great boot. So far, it is quite comfortable and I like the look. I where a US 12 2e if I can find them, but this size is not available in these boots or any others. I ordered the 12, and they fit perfectly the first time I wore them, but after a few wearings, they stretched out a bit. They’re a lil big now, but I wear two socks and they are fine. I don’t think I would have fit into an 11, so I’ll stick with these. Read more

I did everything in these

Harris ApplegateDecember 6, 2023

Doc martens usually look very liberal. However these look a bit more conservative, and wear very well. I beat the hell out of them, 3 years back packing with them, with occasional trail running (because all hiking gear is overpriced and wears horribly). They've survived a lot of creek fishing. The only thing that led me to get a new pair is that I left my foot on the rim of a fire ring and it melted the bottom, I sealed it 20+ times with super glue, but there is no tread left on either foot so I gave up.
