I have a few pairs of docs so when I realized I needed winter boots I looked back to docs and I found this pair. I liked them because they are (for the most part) weather resistant and have "slip proof" bottoms, as well as the faux fur lining. I ordered my normal size (size 6 US). These boots are very comfortable. I wore them around the house upon getting them to help break them in a bit and form to my foot and they are very comfortable to stand in to cook, clean, and even just watch tv. They feel super sturdy but not clunky and in the way. I was worried that they would give me blisters like my other docs did while breaking them in (and for years after with the one pair), but these have yet to cause any discomfort or blister feelings. I will say though - wear socks that are thick around the ankles. The way that these hit, I can see them giving ankle blisters quite easily rather than heel blisters. I have been wearing thick socks that go above the boots and so far so good. Within a few days of receiving them, it snowed. These boots handled the snow really well, and I didn't have to double up on socks which I normally have to do. I have not treated them with a weather proofer, so I will admit I was worried about water or salt staining but there has been none. So far, these boots were a great choice for me, and I think they will be great for people in most winter circumstances! (To note - these are not snow storm boots. Not because they can't withstand it, but they are a true ankle boot. If you need to walk through more than 6 inches of snow, these are not the shoes for you. For big snow storms or for walking through really rough terrain, I own thigh high winter boots. Took the advice of reviewers and ordered up one size (11) and deeply regretted it. These shoes were sooo long, honestly the largest size 11 shoe I've ever received. Ankle fit great even with thicker socks on but the shoe was just way too long - when I tried them on I kept banging into things with the toe. So sad to be returning my dream docs especially because my true size is now out of stock...still gave the shoe 4 stars because they would have been great if they were the correct size. Read more
