I usually wear a 6 but I got a 7 in these boots after purchasing Docs that fit too tightly in the past. I feel it was a good call. I intend to wear these with thick socks for the fall and winter months and they feel really good with nice thick socks. I also think that the bigger size will be more comfortable when I have leggings or jeans on. I love the heel, it gives the boots a more feminine look and they feel very comfortable to walk in. Looking forward to wearing these as my go-to boots this year. Edit: after trying them on with my tights and jeans, the size-up looks clearly too big for me. 4.5 rating. These run big. I wear a 7.5 for most shoes. I have a pair of flat 8-eyes docs from years ago that were a 7, they were too tight for my older foot. Last year I ordered a new pair flat 8-eye docs in size 8 and they are a little big but ok. I went with 8 for these and they were way sloshy. I returned, ordered a 7 and they are great! I wish I would have bought them sooner! As with all leather boots (shoes in general) you have to break them in. The first (sometimes more) time wearing, I wear when I am home, so if they start to bug I can take them off. These are good to go from the first. I wear boot socks until the opening breaks in well and you definitely want to with these.
