I was skeptical as to why anyone needs an alarm clock these days, when everyone has a smartphone that is used as an alarm clock. This sunrise alarm clock actually provides enough benefit to deserve some space on the night stand. Anyone that's fallen asleep in a room that isn't well insulated from light and sound knows how difficult it is to sleep through those disruptions. This clock leverages those same principles to wake you up. But with the benefit that you can determine when those external stimulations nudge you out of sleep. The sunrise feature can be used to brighten up the room 30/10/5/0 minutes prior to the alarm going off. Brightening up the room with the built in light helps to signal that it's time to get up, before the audio alarm goes off. This pre-alarm lighting is far less disturbing than an audio alarm to start nudging you awake. As far as the audio alarm, there are several sounds including a standard alarm sound. I personally enjoy the bird chirps. Hoping the chirping will be intrusive enough to wake me even when I'm very tired. The sunrise light feature starts to activates and takes about a minute to reach the light limit you set during the alarm process. So whether you choose, 30/10/5 minutes prior to your audio alarm going off, it'll take a minute to go from dark to the preset max light limit. It would have been better if the max light limit was gradually reached as the audio alarm goes off. But that's a lot more programming to accomplish due to the 30/10/5/0 settings. But a minute from dark to light is better than instant light. Sound Machine: This clock also has a built in sound machine that can be used independent of the alarm functionality. There are plenty of options to choose from. As a fan of the the company's (Dreamegg) portable sound machine, they don't disappoint. Night Light: The clock can be used as an impromptu light source. This is helpful for anyone that has to turn off the light switch, then walk to their bed in the dark. You can simply activate the light, then turn off the light switch and walk back to the bed guided by the light. Additional Feature: The clock appears to be able to keep the time during power outages. At least for a little while. I left the clock unplugged for over an hour. When I plugged the power cable back in, the correct time was displayed. But be aware the alarm (both light and audio) will not work without power. Overall, this is an excellent take on the bedside alarm clock. In times, where such a device seems superfluous, this clock provides a reason to actually use an alarm clock. For anyone that wants to be nudged awake, this is the clock for you. Highly recommend. The media could not be loaded. I want to love it but what is wrong with the snooze 😭 You hit snooze, light goes off, then blares on at full power with the next alarm. I wanted a sunrise clock not a flashbang. Pros: - Love the knob, it makes snoozing and changing settings easy - It looks really nice, off or on - Phone free! - Fun ambient colors - You can play sounds indefinitely, no need to set a timer - 29 sound options, and 6 alarm noises - It retains the time and alarm settings if power briefly goes out. Another review says it doesn't, that is false. - Good size for a nightstand Cons: - The snooze is a deal breaker for me - The sunrise fade in is all one color, not red to yellow - Not the best speaker quality but not terrible, I'd say it's price appropriate If you're not a snoozer it's a great clock. If you are, I wouldn't recommend it. Read more

This sunrise alarm clock has a combination of gentle light, soothing sounds, and thoughtful controls makes it feel more like a sleep-well partner than a basic clock. The gradual wake-up light eases you into the day with a mellow glow, which aligns with how light cues can help your body transition out of sleep more naturally. You can pair this with one of the relaxing sounds — from white noise and nature ambiances to gentle melodies — so waking feels calmer and less jarring than a blaring buzzer. It also doubles as a sound machine before bed, helping mask background noise and create a cozy sleep environment. What stood out: * It's a beautiful design, and the light is beautiful. The sound options are mostly good too. * The light and sound pairing really makes a difference in my sleep routine — the warm glow and soft audio help signal it’s time to relax and wind down. * The dimmable light on the clock allows me to see time in the middle of the night without being stimulating on my eyes. * Settings are flexible, with a wide range of soothing sounds and dimmable lighting, so you can tailor ambience and alarm style to your preference. What to keep in mind: * The sound selection is broad but more functional than “meditation-audio” level — it’s great for ambience and masking noise, but not a full guided sleep system. * It's a sizeable machine so it'll take up some space on your bedstand. It's too too heavy but is definitely too bulky for travel. * The buttons take a moment to figure out and they are mostly intuitive, though keep it mind you have to hard-press the button to turn it off (which is not so intuitive). I’ve been using the Dreamegg Sunrise 2 for several weeks now, and overall it’s been a very positive addition to my bedroom. I especially like the soft colored light — it’s not too bright, and the dimmable night light makes for a pleasant, calming glow before bed. The white noise generator is a great idea and genuinely helps me fall asleep faster by masking background noise. I also appreciate that I can set a timer so the sounds stop after a few hours, and by that time I’m usually already asleep. This device really feels like an all-in-one sleep aid because it doubles as a sunrise alarm clock too. The alarm light gradually gets brighter to help ease me awake, and paired with gentle sounds it’s much nicer than a sudden loud buzzer. I also like the intuitive instructions — they were easy to read and follow, so setup was quick without any confusing buttons. One minor drawback I’ve noticed is that while the soothing sounds are helpful, the sound quality and variety sometimes feel a bit basic. Nonetheless, for the price, and the way it improves both my bedtime and wake-up routines, it’s very worth it. Overall, I’m happy with how this unit enhances my sleep experience and makes mornings more pleasant. If you’re looking for a multifunction sleep clock with calming lights and sounds, the Dreamegg Sunrise 2 delivers solid value. Read more
