First of all this machine from 2002 is the only one at present still alive and kicking. IT HAS A VOLUME CONTROL IT HAS A MUTE BUTTON YOU CAN PLAY CDS DIRECTLY INTO AN AMPLIFIER USING YOUR REMOTE. AND CONTROL EVERYTHING. IF YOU WANT A MACHINE THAT WORKS THIS IS THE ONE. IT DOES NOT DO WELL WITH STICKY PEANUT BUTTER / JELLY FINGERS NOBODY MAKES THAT ONE. HOWEVER IF YOU READ REVIEWS FOR ANY OTHER MACHINE AND THE HORROR STORYS. YOU KNOW THAT RELIABLILITY IS THE BIG DEAL THIS ONE IS REALLY GOOD. I purchased this unit to use in my classroom. The DVD player does not work. It skips horribly and locks up, though it was advertised as working. It would seem that if someone spends over $100 on something that is supposed to work, it should work! I am a teacher in a small district. I do not have funds to simply throw away on a whim.
