I've used this e.l.f. primer in the green version for quite a while. It's a great inexpensive alternative to the green primer that Smashbox makes, which is my preferred primer. But the e.l.f. version costs around $6, while Smashbox ranges from $30-40. So this is a great bargain version that works almost as well. I have extremely sensitive skin and rosacea, and this product works great without irritating my skin. The green tint is not as strong as the Smashbox, but it does seem to help a little bit with the redness. But most importantly, it feels great going on and works to keep my makeup in place all day and help me use less foundation. It also keeps the foundation from settling into my pores and fine lines. It feels great once it's on the skin, giving you a nice smooth, silky feel to the skin. The pump bottle is nice, but you do miss out on product with the pump. The bottle is also deceiving as to the amount of product, as the actual product fills a smaller cavity inside the bottle. However, at this price point, that's really not much of a concern to me. Overall, this is a great primer and I've used it quite a while with great results for my dry, sensitive, red skin. I suspect this might be the product that broke me out in hives (the other suspect being Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Face Cream, so if you're reading this with sensitive skin, beware of that too - I started both products at the same time). I did notice at one point in the beginning days of using it, I watched this bump on my skin form before my very eyes. I was also noticing my already rosacea-type skin look even redder than normal. My skin also felt irritated. After a week, and after a day where I'd been sweating a bunch (with a face full of makeup) I woke up with some hives on the front of my neck (so me it looked almost funnily like a drip pattern). I then googled "Elf Primer Allergic" and came across this video of another girl who had the same hive situation where I did (on the neck), and yet she had an even more severe allergic reaction than me, like, her whole face and eyes puffed up. D: I then read the comments of the video, and there lots of others who had reactions to ELF Primer line in general. Some were still dealing with clearing up their hives weeks later, some even experienced symptoms as severe as facial peeling. Also, a few of them had been using the primer for a couple of weeks before they began seeing major symptoms, so extra annoying/scary that this can just hit you after a buildup of time. No one has time for unsightly and uncomfortable hives. I'm very lucky this didn't happen before a major event where'd I'd be photographed or whatever. And on a basic level, it did absolutely nothing for my redness, it was as if I didn't put anything on at all. It was very slippery, but honestly, my daily facial sunscreen (Supergoop) does the same job, and I suspect any facial sunscreen would be better or the same. A failure on all fronts. So, overall, I came away with a very negative experience. A definite waste of money for me, I'm not particularly wealthy, the whole reason I was buying ELF anyway, but maybe I'll just save up for some better stuff next time (Smashbox primer is awesome but so expensive for my beauty budget :( ).
