I bought this for my son who has to take medication 3 times a day. For almost 2 months, we tried to get him to remember to take his meds, but nothing worked. On a spur of the moment, I bought this timer/pill box. It works flawlessly. It's loud enough to hear most anywhere in the house, vibrates if it's in your pocket, small enough to fit in your pocket on trips, and easy enough to use. Set the alarms on it once, and it goes off at the same time every day. No resetting, no extra buttons to push, no thinking. Alarm goes off, take your pill. That simple. He has not missed a dose since we bought it. Read more
The batteries that came with this pill box were dead, so bought a new AAA battery (used for the alarm) and three button cell batteries (used for the clock). Everything worked fine until I decided to pour a tiny bit of water into each pill compartment and some trickled down the side and got inside the box. It went dead after that, so I removed all batteries and let it air dry for a couple of hours (after I waved it in the air to shake out any excess water that would let go). I reinserted all the batteries and on the first try, I saw a split-second flash of light. I removed the batteries, reinserted them, and this time, it came on, but no alarm or vibration. So again, I removed the batteries, reinserted and it came on. The first two alarms would work, but not #'s 3 & 4. I gave it more time to dry out (or wake up) and by bedtime, it was working perfectly. I'm on the second day of use and so far, so good. Clock works and keeps good time, and alarms have sounded at the times I set. My advice is not to wash the compartments without taking the pack apart, but snap it off at the indicated area and wash it under running water. If you have a pet in the house or someone unsuspecting, it would be good to place this item on something soft to absorb sound. I had mine on my kitchen counter and when the vibration came on, I had no idea what was happening in the kitchen, and my dog almost had a heart attack. The alarm is rather loud, and the vibration is strong. The way I see it, if the item doesn't last more than two or three months, I got my money's worth at the current price and I will just buy another one. Depending on the kind of batteries you buy, it should last at least a year if they are of good quality. It should work great for when I'm focused on paperwork and etc., and also on flights or any other method of travel. Taking my medicines on time is a high priority, and I do not need the side effects I get when I miss a dose. This e-pill dispenser should be ideal in helping me keep things on schedule so my days and nights will go well. I'm ordering another one for a spare. Update: I've had this e-pill alarm for over a month now and it still works great. The water that got inside didn't seem to hurt it any at all. Glad I made the purchase! Read more
I've seen reviews by others stating their product stopped working a few weeks after it arrived. Ha! Mine never STARTED working. Arrived scratched and, honestly, looked second hand. Didn't even turn on. Batteries included must have been dead. Placed my own in and it beeped on, but the display faded. Would only 'work' when I squeezed it with extra pressure --the second I put it down (i.e. released pressure) the display would fade and all the settings revert. I tried placing paper, card, blue tac...multiple things inside to hold it together. I tried taping around it to keep it tight. NOTHING worked. The one time I got the alarm to sound it rang once and appeared to frighten itself to death and sounded no more. I got in touch with Amazon, who told me to contact the seller (above), they assured me it was covered under a warranty and that another product would be sent free of charge. However, I never received it. Ultimately, I got my money back. I wasn't going to write this review, thinking maybe I'd just had a really unfortunate experience (as Freddie Roach uses this product, so surely it must work...right?). But as I came back here to consider purchasing another, I noticed how many bad reviews it has gotten. It does not seem mine was a fluke experience, and as such I'd like to post my review along with the others, to warn potential buyers of how -apparently often- this product does not work. Read more
