It's cheap, and probably very fair value. I'd prefer to have paid a few dollars more and had the 3/4" fittings included, but it's not a big deal. It installed easily enough. The O-ring is a little fussy. Not as good a design as the Omni filters are. I have had it refuse to seat when I changed the filter twice now, but with fussing it can be put back. Using it as a whole-house sediment filter to get the silt out of a city supply that is currently muddy because of major infrastructure construction going on down the street. Combined with a 5 micron string filter it's doing very well. Why does Amazon want me to rate the "sheerness" of every product? This is not sheer. One star for 'sheerness'. They also want me to rate the "thickness" and "flavor". It is thick enough... for... well... its job. It tastes terrible, it's made of plastic. Please do not eat the filter housing. Read more

I bought this filter housing specifically for under sink installation. It’s a little on the large side and takes quite a bit of real estate especially in a packed under sink storage but I wanted something that’ll take a standard 10-inch filter and have a variety of filter brand options. Installation is straight forward but can be challenging in tight spaces. Once mounted it’s quite stable since the bracket is built-it. Highlights: >Excellent build quality >Built-In mounting bracket >Uses standard 10-inch cartridge from any brand >Universal fit and can be mounted virtually anywhere >Pressure relief valve for ease of cartridge replacement >Pressure rated from 30 psi min - 100 psi max >Water temperature from 40°F min - 120°F max We’ve had it a little over a year now with a Brita cartridge and so far, have had no issues with it. We never had any plastic or chemical taste when new either. One thing to note for this particular housing is the ports are 3/4 in. FIP. I had to use two 3/4 in. MIP x 1/4 in. FIP reducer brass fittings to make it work on a sink mounted water filtration faucet. Read more
