We were replacing a unit that was clear plastic, with this one that is white & solid - not see thru. We have terrible looking water on a well, after just a few days the clear one looked redbrown from rust. We have several filter systems plus an iron remover system and then regular water softener. Replaced the clear unit with this & all we had to do was just unscrew the union fittings, the old screw in adapters fit right in new device, didn't have to change any fittings - anyone who's had to rework plumbing for replacements knows what a pain that can be, a 10 minute job can turn into a half day project! This literally took just 10 min to do. We bought an off brand filter, that was a little tough to get to seat, we called their support number, got an AMERCIAN, very knowledgeable, gave us good advice - it was leaking a tiny bit from the cap seal. Finally got it to seat. Both hubby & tech fellow figured maybe the off brand filter was a titch too long? So had to tighten more because of that. It did finally stop leaking (it was just a very small drip every 30 secs or so). So only caveat is maybe order THEIR filters so you are sure they'll fit. We had ordered the other brand because it was a solid spun type material that said it filtered to 1 micron, & filled up from the inside of filter to the exterior of filter;it was evidently a tiny bit longer. EcoPure only seems to have the pleated & string type filters, has been our experience those don't work as well with our REALLY BAD well water. We have actual what they call "chili pepper sand" that comes out of our well at times. Probably need to redrill the well, but that's another $1500 I don't want to have to spend! Hope this will solve our aesthetic concerns. Sounds bad I guess, trying to hide the fact our water is ugly looking? Ohio, what more can I say. Read more

Excellent, I have well water with a lot of iron in it, took my water from orange to crystal clear. The filters donβt last 6 months, probably only a month for my water, but they are only $15 to replace, and are worth every dime. No loss of water pressure until the filter becomes completely full of sediment. I had checked on a whole home filter system, but it would cost thousands, so I tried this and couldnβt be happier. Great filter. I have well water and have issues with sediment. Put in a Pentek filter and notice a difference almost immediately in clarity and taste. No loss of pressure either. Installation is a DIY. Depending on how bad your water is I recommend a sediment filter in line before this to make the cartridges last longer. They have a reusable metal screen thatβs easily cleaned. Would buy again Read more

I replaced "the Blue" with this filter. What I absolutely love is the pressure release valve so filter changes are so much easier. Plumber recommended.... Water around here can taste "off" and contain a lot of iron (rusty)...so this is a necessity. Read more

Replaced a smaller whole house filter with this larger one. It wasnβt the most fun thing to increase pipe size to the 1β required for this filter, but a quick trip to Home Depot (and a small fortune on Sharkbite fittings) made the conversion quick and easy. I find I can go a lot longer between filter changes now, which is a welcomed change! Read more
