I have a Dyson V8 and the battery has been starting to run down a lot sooner. I got this which has a higher capacity. It came with the battery along with replacement screws, a screw driver and replacement filters for the intake and exhaust. The install was very simple, remove the three screws and the battery comes out very easily. Put the new one in it's place and replace the screws. While it came with replacement screws, I just used the original ones. They were a little longer. There is one screw on the handle and two under the hatch at the bottom (see pics) The replacement battery looks very similar with a few minor differences that you can't see once it's installed. The new battery does have a little rubber bumper patch that sits flush at the bottom which is a nice touch. Although the battery has a higher capacity, it's not any larger. The battery feels well made very similar to the original one. The replacement filters seem just fine, similar to other aftermarket ones I've used in the past. I charged it overnight and used it until the battery was exhausted. It ran a very long time I didn't time it but it was almost twice as long if I had to guess. Normally I can do the steps and the upstairs and a little bit of the downstairs before the battery ran down, when it was new. With this replacement I did that but also the basement, basement stairs the whole downstairs and it was still going. I did all the corners and went over a few places because I wanted to run it all the way down before recharging. TLDNR? Easy to install, quality made and lasts a very long time, worth the price. update: 1/1/26 I've been using the new battery for a little while now. It's still working well and lasts a long time. The battery lasts pretty long. I tend to run out of steam before the battery does. I use to do most of the house on regular power and a few high traffic area spots on max. Now I can do the whole house then switch to MAX and do most of the house again. More often than not I finish before the battery is exhausted. Read more
So far this batter has worked well and definitely extended the run-time over the factory battery. Easy to install with a small screwdriver that they give you. Only complaint is that the hepa filter that goes on the end didn’t fit my V7 Motörhead. The longer, round filters fit fine. But that’s not why I bought the battery any way. It’s only been a month so we’ll see. I had already purchased a replacement battery from another manufacturer and it only lasted 3 months. I’m hopeful this one lasts a lot longer. I got this Dyson handheld battery replacement and it works exactly like I hoped. Charges up fine, runs the vacuum like normal, and honestly it’s a fraction of the price of the OEM one. For me that’s a big deal since the original batteries are kinda pricey. It’s recharagble and snaps right into place without any fuss. My Dyson went from barely holding a charge to working like it used to, so that alone made it worth it. No weird overheating or anything like that either. Overall it just works as intended. My dyson started shutting off after about 5 min of run time. Then I found these replacement batteries. I took a chance thinking this might help. It DID! Those dyson batteries evidently do not have a long life. This was a lot cheaper than their replacement and has been working great since installed. The kit comes with everything you need (even a screwdriver....it sucks, but works) and it's only a few screws to take out to install. My machine runs as good as new now. PS. My Dyson animal battery was failing, I took it into a Dyson shop and they quoted me $200 ti replace the battery and have to wait weeks for the part. They said an Amazon battery wouldn’t work and is a fire hazard. I ordered this one and it works perfectly fine! The charge lasts longer than our old one and it fit perfectly, just like the Dyson battery. Totally worth it instead of having to basically buy a whole new vacuum! Read more
