These smart outlets are amazing! Setup took less than two minutes, and they work perfectly with Alexa for full automation. The app is super easy to use, and the outlets automatically reconnect if Wi-Fi drops. I mounted them next to my outdoor outlets, and even with Florida’s heavy rain, we haven’t had a single GFI issue. This is a great unit & was just what I needed for my backyard, with 2 outlets that could be controlled separately. I really like that it has an enclosure for the outlets & set up is pretty straightforward. The main issue I ran into is it doesn't seem to actually communicate with the app on your phone over your wifi, which seems to be the main point of having it connected to the wifi in the first place. Once I set everything up it functioned fine on its own, but I would receive notifications that it was having timing issues each time it was supposed to be working. If I checked the app in a part of the house that was far from the unit itself (while still being on the same wifi network) it would show that it was offline. Once I got close to the unit, it would show online. That tells me the phone is connecting via Bluetooth and not over the wifi network since distance between the phone & the unit shouldn't matter if it is over the network & I have other wifi enabled devices (my landscape controller) in the same area of this outlet. So it sends error alerts if you are not close enough for the phone to connect to it directly & It also sends alerts if you are away from the house and would not be able to connect to the unit at all even it it was communicating via wifi. Even though I was getting these notifications when my phone wasn't directly connected to the unit, the unit WAS still functioning & running through its schedules when I would walk out and check though. So in the end it works and does everything I need - I would just suggest setting it up & turning off notifications to leave it like any other non-"smart" timer. Still worth getting if you need a nice enclosed outlet timer that can control the 2 outlets separately. We recently purchased LED string lights for our deck, that came with no remote. I wanted a way to control the brightness and timer, from the comfort of home. This device accomplished that. I can set it to come on at "sunset" every night, so no need to fuss with readjusting the timer as the sun sets earlier/later. It also works with Alexa, so we can tell her to turn the lights on/off or adjust the brightness. Great for those 2am dog potty trips, so I can see them, all I have to do is say "Alexa, set the deck lights to 10%" and done. Bonus is that each of the 2 outlets are independent, so we can have 2 different devices turn on/off at different times. Just note, only one of the 2 outlets can dim, the other is purely on/off.
