This is my first experience using these pressure pots so I didn't know anything about them except they cook food faster. I read the instructions but they weren't really beginner friendly. I didn't immediately catch on how the lid attaches and locks and I had to search through the directions for how much I could put in it. I couldn't find any explanation for the digital codes (dd, 0000) that showed on the display when it was done. I guess it's just to let you know the time is up or the pressure is safe to open. I cooked up some short ribs in 40 minutes (meat/stew setting plus 10 min) and they came out perfect. I tried a roast with veggies too and it was amazing how much kitchen time it saved me! It was easy to clean up and the only real problem I ran into was not knowing how to clean the lid. There was no information and I was so worried about yuck food getting up into the seal area. Well, I finally figured out that the sealed splatter shield thing can just be pulled off. Now I can clean it thoroughly. Overall, once I got to understand this pot, it became fairly easy and quick to use. It's a breeze to clean, thanks to the removable, nonstick inner pot. It's also easy to store because the plug is fully removable and can be stored inside the pot. Read more

So far we’ve used this multi-cooker twice, once for pressure cooking and once for sautéing and slow cooking. The food has turned out great both times. I’ve never used a pressure cooker but have been curious about them for a long time. My biggest reason for not using them is that I’m worried about the steam building up too much and causing an accident. As long as you lock the lid on this cooker and you turn the steam knob, you’ll be fine. My biggest concern is that the knob feels very loose. It worked fine but I don’t know if that’s how pressure cookers are supposed to work. It released the steam well enough when the food was done. For our pressure coooking test we made a beef tongue. These can be notorious for taking hours to cook. In two hours it was super tender and fell apart deliciously. For our next test, I sautéed some pork meat (pictured) and then slow cooked it in salsa. Again, no complaints at all about the cook. Also, I really thought that the pork roast wasn’t going to all fit and it did and there was room for more. So it looks small but holds a lot. Read more

I am a big fan of both electronic and stovetop pressure cookers. They really save time. They work like a slow cooker, but instead of making soups and stews slowly, they are incredibly fast. This is a 6 L unit, which is the perfect size for a family. It has a non-stick interior. Stainless interiors are nice because they last and last. However, non-stick interiors are much better for easy clean-up. I have researched the topic, and although the manufacturing of non-stick coatings is terrible for the environment, the coating is actually inert and does not pose a danger. Like the famous Instant Pot, this unit will do a lot more than just pressure cook. It has programs for rice, yogurt making, and it can operate as a slow cooker too. Fantastic! Although I have yet to do it I want to try making yogurt in the machine. There are many YouTube videos of people doing this, and the process not only looks easy but it saves quite a bit of money. When I was growing up, my mom used a traditional pressure cooker. She was a great cook who probably used her unit one or two times a week. Great item. Read more

Wow! This is a fantastic kitchen appliance which can replace a number of appliances that are essential for the active cook. It is a sturdy, stainless steel unit built to last for a good long while and this would make a great gift for the new homeowner or newly wed. I wish something like this had been available when my family was just starting lo these many years ago. This is a slow cooker, a pressure cooker, a rice maker, etc. It is programmable in the modern electronic sense. The capacity is quite large at 6 liters utilizing a non-stick pot which can hold enough food for the average family all in one spot. The unit is of moderate size but can replace several other things leaving lots of working room available in the average kitchen. The cost of this wonder is appropriate and it is highly recommended.
