I dont always do a review. I try to be careful on what I buy. I bought my first ember mug from Costco and gave a couple as Xmas gifts. Everyone liked them. I dont have a comparison. I have only used the Ember. I like the convenience of putting my coffee down and coming back to find it still warm. I drink coffee all day. The mug lip is comfortable to use. It is a little heavier than most mugs. But I find this ok because it is less likely to tip over if you bump it because you were reaching for it while reading the paper. It also makes you grip it stronger so you dont drop it. It is a quality product. Not chesply made. The app was easy to use. I keep it at the same tempersture. I started with the 6 oz black mug but ordered on Prime the larger mug. Just right for the amount of coffee I like to drink. When my daughter visits she uses the smaller on for tea. It charges fairly quickly in the base where I keep it. It keeps the coffee warm for my time for drinking the mug. But I am surprised to find it still warm when I have left it for awhile. My daughter got a mug that keeps my drinks hot for as long as I keep it on the base, and that was great, but I wanted something better. I wanted to enjoy my coffee without being stuck to a base. That’s where this comes in! I read a lot of reviews about this product, and even though it’s expensive, I thought it was built better and more reliable than most other mugs, even though a few reviews were negative. I just got it, so maybe there are some issues, but so far, I’m really happy with it. Before I purchased the product, I was a little worried that the amount of coffee that I currently drink would not fit in the size of the mug so there are two sizes available. I got the largest size hoping that it would be big enough, and luckily it was. I can enjoy the same amount of coffee. I have drank every morning for the last 10 years in this new mug. The app is what makes it special, but it’s a bit annoying that I can’t control the temperature without the app. I set my temperature once, and as soon as I pour my drink in the mug, everything turns on. I recently read a review where someone complained about dark stains inside the cup. They said it was probably their fault because they used a metal spoon to stir their coffee. One of the first things I read when I opened my package was not to use metal utensils. I know this mug is pricey, so I would recommend either buying a bunch of plastic spoons or looking for some silicone spoons because you’ll need them. I hope this review helps!. Read more

I am updating my previous review. Having owned this mug now for a little over 7 months, I can say it is a total waste of (a lot of) money. About a month ago I noticed it had stopped charging. I went through the rather tedious process of re-syncing it to the app and to my home network, and it then started charging again. Then a week later the same thing happened, and I went through the same process. Then a few days later — you guessed it, same thing. It now does this every few days. I tried to report this to the company’s “customer service”, but they do not want to hear from you if you did not buy the mug directly from them. To spend that much money on something that stops working in less than a year — and on top of that they do not stand behind their product — feels pretty bad. Don’t make the same mistake I did, do not buy this mug. Previous review: This is a fantastic mug, I feel pampered every morning drinking my tea out of it. It works as advertised, keeps your drink at the temp you set. The mug feels good in the hand, and the size allows for larger brews. It’s just over-the-top luxury. Having said that, it really is very expensive, and I suspect you could buy a cheaper one that would be 80% as effective for less than half the cost of this one. Also, I found it annoying and chintzy that you have to pay extra for a lid for it — all that money, you’d think they could throw in a plastic lid. So am I glad I bought it? Yes. So the fact that I have purchased FOUR of these Ember cups should tell you a bit why I love them! I detest warm coffee and these stay nice and hot for a long period of time. My tip is to only buy the black ones bc the cups will stain inside and no matter what you use to clean them, the stain will never come out. Read more

I love a cup of HOT coffee! And if the coffee gets warm, I dump it out and start over. So this was awesome for me to relax with a cup of hot coffee not having to worry about it getting warm. However, not long after the purchase the cup was not staying charged. So I would end up with a half a cup of hot coffee. Then, it was not being charged at all!! . I finally noticed one of the little prongs on the warmer was broken. So I would say be careful with the durability. For over a week I tried to call Customer Service and no response. I tried to email Customer Service and no response. So I’m not happy with the product other than while it worked! And I’m definitely not happy with Customer Service!!! Read more
