The standout feature here is 100% offline voice control. There’s no Wi-Fi, no app, no phone pairing, and no setup process at all—just plug it in and start using it. All voice commands are processed locally on the device, which means no data leaving your home and no reliance on an internet connection. Simply use the voice command and the device led light in the middle will flash several times to show its processing, followed by the action. The unit has two outlets: one is always on, and the other is voice-controlled. This works especially well for lamps, fans, or other simple appliances. The voice-controlled outlet responds to a set of preset commands, and while it does take a little retraining if you’re used to Alexa or Google phrasing, the commands are straightforward and easy to learn. Once you get used to the command structure, it feels surprisingly seamless. Saying a command and having the device respond instantly—without Wi-Fi or a hub—is honestly kind of impressive. When it works (which it generally does), it feels smooth and satisfying. You can also set sleep and wake timers, and multiple units can be grouped or assigned different wake words, which adds flexibility without increasing complexity. As I get older, ease of use with products becomes more important. Complicated is no longer in my vocabulary! When I saw this plug, I loved the simplicity of it and ordered it. I've always considered Emerson a leader in all things electric. For me, the brand has always provided great quality products. I think this dual outlet is good quality and should be durable for a long time. There are 2 outlets on this, but only one is voice activated. I love the fact that the commands are just between me and the outlet and they don't have to go through an app or the internet. The simplicity of it is great for me. I'm still trying to figure out where I want to put it for the long term. I've tried it in several outlets and love how it works in each. I think I'll be using it the most in my den for lamps. This dual outlet works very well for me. There are a bunch of different commands - all I've used so far are the on and off. I really like that I can give commands without having to be right next to it because that would defeat the purpose of it. This was just what I was looking for! I do not want to risk my privacy for an automated voice command device. I have a sleep noise machine I have had forever. It is the sound I enjoy, it is compact but puts out the exact amount of volume I need. The perfect size fits on my night stand. The problem is I have had it for years and the power button is getting worn out. I don’t want to replace the machine, but every day the button gets worse. I hooked up this machine to the plug and volah I no longer have to use the original power switch on my sleep sound machine. I do not have to use an app; no WIFI necessary, super fast and easy set up. It has over 30 voice control commands, or you can push the button in the middle. I do not need to sacrifice my privacy either. I can also set it up with its timer if necessary. It is sleek, small and fits well behind my night stand without having to pull my furniture away from the wall. It was a perfect solution for a problem at a reasonable price. The media could not be loaded. I’ve been really impressed with this voice controlled plug. The voice recognition works all the way across my living room without me having to raise my voice, which was a pleasant surprise. The wake command is “Hey Emerson”, and it responds quickly and consistently. I didn’t have to program it at all. It comes pre programmed and ready to go. It’s also app and WiFi free you don’t have to connect it to anything at all. It’s compatible with any standard plug. One feature I really like is that you can give multiple commands within about 7 seconds, which makes it feel smooth and convenient instead of clunky. The available commands are straightforward but versatile, you can turn the plug on or off, set a timer for 1, 2, 4, 8, or 12 hours, put it to sleep for those same time intervals, or set it to wake in 1, 2, 4, 8, or 12 hours. This makes it especially useful for things like a crock pot, you can set it to turn on hours after you’ve already left the house, which is incredibly convenient for having a meal cooking or ready later in the day. While you can’t create custom commands, the built in options cover everything I personally need for everyday use. Keep in mind while there are two outlets on the wall plug, only one of them is voice control optimized. The other one is just a regular outlet.
