Broke our water (and ice) dispenser

Sadly, the first of 3 filters broke our Frigidaire water dispenser. Now no ice maker either. Replacing the old filter, that was working perfectly, did not work either. And neither of the 2 remaining filters worked. We believe a plunger inside the Frigidaire filter holder got pushed back, seemingly permanently . Does anyone have a way to pull the tiny plunger forward to its original position? None of the suggestions we've found in searches has worked. We've ordered other filters from other brands that have not given us any troubles. Therefore, I cannot recommend these filters, no matter the price unless there have been critical fixes since April 2025. The filter looked very different from the original and the replacement I used last. I double checked our Frigidaire model number and the filters are supposed to be compatible. Something went very wrong and left us with no water nor ice dispenser. Hope this doesn't happen to you. Read more
