I received this sharpener today and was a bit hesitant at first because of its size as well as that it was not electric. I soon found that it was comfortable to hold and easy to use. My knives needed some TLC as far as being sharpened, and this gadget did exactly what I wanted. From my largest knife, to smallest and even my serrated knives this sharpener got the job done. I even used it on my favorite knife which is a Ergo Chef bread knife. I was worried that it may ruin it or not sharpen it to what I wanted....but it worked excellent. I'm happy to say my knives are now all sharpened and like new! This product is easy to use, stores nicely in a drawer or small enough to leave next to my knife block without being a nuisance. The handle is comfortable to hold, works whether you are right or left handed,and stays flat when sharpening while holding it on your counter. It came packaged well and with directions on the back of the package that were simple and clear. Although I did not clean it yet, it looks simple enough to take apart. This knife sharpener is incredibly easy to use and it does a great job! The rubber pads on the base keep the sharpener in place on my counter and I’m amazed at how sharp my knives become after only a few “pulls” through the sharpener. I’ve used electric sharpeners before but I’ve never liked them: they’re bulky, heavy, noisy and always stored “out of the way”, which makes fishing them out a pain.
