My review is geared toward people who have issues with their cervical spine/migraines, so-called "T-Rex sleepers", and CPAP users. This pillow has excellent construction. The type of product that is worth every penny as far as that goes. I already use a memory foam pillow, so that is what I have to go off of. I started using one at the recommendation of the provider I see for my intractable migraines and it has changed my life. So I am a big believer in memory foam pillows. When I have tension in my neck from poor posture or cervical subluxation, it triggers my migraines. Memory foam pillows keep your neck in alignment while you're sleeping. The pillow comes tightly wrapped and vacuum sealed. It unfurls immediately upon opening and is ready to go. I've never seen anything like it.😂 It fits in a standard pillowcase. Because of its unusual shape, it didn't look to me as though it would, so I was very happy about that. This pillow, for me, is phenomenal for sleeping on my back. The shape cradles the head and neck perfectly. There were times when I was able to sleep on my side with it, which is what it is supposedly for. When I was able to do that, I could put my arms in the indentations and it kept me from sleeping in the dreaded T-Rex position. The T-Rex position can cause nerve damage! Do anything you can to avoid it. I wish I could sleep comfortably on my side with this pillow on a regular basis. My problem with doing that is that I use a CPAP machine when I sleep. The memory foam that this pillow is made of is not squishy. It's pretty firm. And the concave area for the head and neck is relatively narrow. The particular nasal mask that I use is not stiff enough for this pillow, so I feel like I'm not getting enough air when I sleep on my side. My regular memory foam pillow is squishier and has more room in the middle. Like I said, there were times when I was able to sleep on my side, but for the most part I couldn't. I really wish that I could because it helped keep me from curling my hands and arms in. The listing photos show a model sleeping on her stomach while using this pillow. I wasn't able to try that at all because of my neck issues and the fact that I use a nasal mask. So I would look at other people's reviews to see if anyone has feedback on how that worked for them. I gave this pillow 5 stars because it is top quality and would be very helpful for a lot of people. If you use a CPAP device and your mask is on the stiffer side, I would give this a try as long as you can return it if you need to. Read more
I’ve tried more pillows over the years than I care to admit, mostly chasing better sleep and less neck and shoulder pain. This one immediately stood out because it’s clearly designed with a purpose, not just shaped oddly for marketing. The memory foam is on the firmer side, but in a good way. It holds its shape through the night instead of flattening out, and the butterfly contour does a nice job cradling the head and supporting the neck. I noticed less stiffness in the morning and less shoulder pressure compared to my usual pillow. As a side sleeper, that alone is a big plus. The arm cutout is better than expected. It allows your shoulder to rest more naturally instead of being jammed under the pillow, which helped reduce that numb arm feeling I usually wake up with. I also found myself tossing and turning less because I wasn’t constantly trying to get comfortable. The biggest downside for me is the outer cover. It’s extremely slippery. The pillow tends to slide around during the night and has a habit of slipping out of the pillowcase, even with a standard case. A grippier fabric or a better-fitting case would go a long way here. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it’s definitely noticeable and a bit annoying. Overall, this is a well-made pillow that offers real neck and shoulder support, especially for side sleepers. If the cover were less slick, it would easily be a five-star pillow. As it stands, it’s still a solid four stars and worth trying if you need firmer support and better alignment — just be prepared to wrestle with the pillowcase a bit. Read more
I wanted to give this a bunch of nights sleep to truly give it a review. I have a smashed vertibrae in my neck and as such I suffer from neck pain a LOT with the wrong pillow....so I have tried a LOT of pillows...this summer alone I think I have tried (and returned) at least 8 different pillows...this is the first side-sleeping pillow that I liked as much as the one I use daily (which is not perfect)...this is probably going to become my new daily one (I have honestly used it daily since I got it)... So what about it makes it good: It is thicker than many of the ones that I have gotten that all looked exactly like this one...once fully inflated (about 2-3 hours after taking it out of the bag) it is between 4-5 inches thick at the neck on one side...about 3-4 inches thick at the neck on the other (yes, you can use either side of it for sleeping some may prefer the more gentle slope of the one side of the pillow, others may like (like me) the firmer in you neck side. Secondly, it is MUCH firmer than many of the other pillows like this that I tried...so many of the memory foam pillows suffer from deflating while you sleep leaving you with your head virtually against the mattress in the morning...for me, this is PAINFUL and I wake up with an extreme neck pain (sometimes unable to turn my head)...this pillow is very firm which cradles your head towards the hole in the center while supporting your neck..this is surprisingly comfortable! It almost felt weird at first...but then I fell asleep and slept until morning! The next night...same thing! I'm not tossing and turning as much trying to get comfortable. Next, coolness....I am a HOT sleeper...I kept cool on this pillow...my head did not wake up covered in sweat (like many of the pillows I tried)...I didn't feel like my brain was melting in the middle of the night...I woke up...and felt great!
