Better than the rest of the competition. My only concern was that the battery life. Read more
As you see in the before and after photos I posted, the escali registered the 0.2 gram and oxo didn’t after adding a tablet. So there is a touch more accuracy there. The oxo max is 6 pound and the escali is only 4.4. Oxo is a touch bigger so you can easily put your items on and the escali is a touch smaller so that might be a challenge. Oxo has a start/stop timer if you need it and escali doesn’t. So for me I might keep both use the escali for espresso making and oxo for other use. Both scales did not register any weight if you put a tablet on it by it self, so technically you can’t get a reading if an item is less than 0.5 gram unless you have a small container and add it then you would know what it weighs. Really like this scale I use it mostly for baking bread. Easy to read, and very accurate - especially weighing smaller quantities - like salt and yeast. Doesn't take up much space on my countertop. One thing I noticed is that it lags a little when you are adding ingredients quickly so it's kind of easy to overshoot your target weight. Not a big issue - you just have to add slower as you get closer to your target and let it catch up. Read more
This is our second scale. Our first one inexplicably failed after 3 years of use. We ordered another because we cannot do without (thanks Amazon for speed) BUT! After the dust settled, I called the service number from the box and explained the problem. The service rep immediately sent us out a REPLACEMENT scale. Very surprised and pleased. We will keep the two because we cannot be without. Read more
I use this scale several times a week and selected it for the brand name, the attractive look, and that it could handle heavier weights so I didn’t have to frequently switch to my larger scale. While I like it enough to not buy another different scale, it does have some drawbacks. The scale is extremely sensitive and sometimes bounces around between tenths of a gram. Having a fan on in the room seems to affect it. When trying to measure small amounts of yeast and salts, this is annoying. How you add very small amounts makes a difference as well. If I’m adding yeast in 1/16 teaspoons, the scale doesn’t always register the increases until I get almost to a gram. However, if I initially add a larger amount and then remove small amounts, it registers the changes and reports correctly. On the good side, it has an easy to read panel, the blue backlight is helpful, it’s easy to clean, and it doesn’t rush you with the time before it shuts off. Read more
Great scale. Precise. Sensitive. Does exactly what I need it to do! Read more
I don’t know where to start. From the beginning, this unit repeatedly corroded the batteries, and would stop working. Cleaning the batteries/terminals or changing the batteries gave temporary relief, but only for a few weeks at a time. The unit would often reset after pressing the tare button or placing an object on the pad anything but gently. Over time, the tare function diminished where even small weights were inaccurate, eventually getting to the point where the readings were totally unreliable. Now, after only four months, it is unusable. Compared to my previous electronic kitchen scale which lasted 10+ years, this one has been an utter disappointment. Read more
