My ice machine stopped pulling water in to make ice not long ago. We called the repair man and he ran a full diagnostic on the machine. He took the filter out and the water started flowing again! I was shocked because the filter says you should replace every 9 months. We got 3.5 months out of the last one and we also have soft water.
