App not easy to use, hard to setup

I got this "Ewelink 16a WiFi Smart Plug, App Remote Control Timer Outlet Power Socket with 2.4Ghz Wireless Switch" to try. I got this smart plug because it can be controlled by both a remote and an app at the same time. However, after installing the app eWeLink , I had a hard time detecting the smart plug and linking it with the app. This is disappointing. The remote control on a smart plug is a good idea, but this seems like poor execution. I cannot recommend this product. Read more

It works but the remote and app do not

I have many smart devices that I have paired with the eWeLink app but this one will not pair. Also the remote does not work and the only (apparent) way to resync the remote is with the app. At least the switch on the side of the plug works so I don't have to keep unplugging the lights. Maybe I can get it to sync to that app eventually but it really shouldn't be this difficult. Read more
