I have an APEC ROES-50 system and I seen these available for much cheaper than the APEC filter and the reviews were good. I can say that it worked for my system. This is a reliable, inexpensive filter but here's something to save frustration with the whole system if you don't get water flow: For a while I couldn't figure out why the Express Water spigot flowed very little and the tank wouldn't fill with water. Process of elimination brought me to the air valve at the bottom of the tank. Could there be so much pressure that it prevented water from filling the tank? I bled the air out and immediately the tank began to fill and later, spigot water flow increased but was sub-optimal. Looking at an online manual for the tank I read that you should not mess with the air pressure but nothing about an over-pressurized tank. It said the pressure should be 7-10 psi. Judging from the air I released the tank had to be at 30+ psi. I used an air pump to pressurize the tank to the correct psi and spigot water flow looked just like in the videos! Mission accomplished! In inherited an RO system when we bought our house, and I am new to RO. Our system was cobbled together by a local shop. Many of these membranes are 40 or 50 bucks. Are they better? I have no idea. All I can tell you is our water taste better and flow rate is up. I bought cheaper to see if I really wanted to keep the system at all. I think I do. We have the sink tap and this also feeds our fridge water/ice maker, so we don’t need the very small, very expensive water filter for the Fridge. I would buy this filter again. Read more

Swapping these is a lot easier than expected. Regarding the actual filtration of the R/O Membranes are perfect, 270+ tds down to ~7ppm along with a 3 stage prefiltration of course. Happy! EDIT: Make sure you swap the flow restrictor along with the RO membrane. Mine lasted nearly 2 RO membranes, though make sure you get appropriate CC restrictor per membrane rating. This particular 100GPD needs 1000CC flow restrictor. Not sure why Express water shipped the kit with 600CC one as it allegedly degrades life of the membrane by early choking which I could agree with as that issue ruined the flow restrictor. Perhaps its EW's ecological way of thinking not to waste on water bill, or to be "green earth" but you'll end up needing to get new RO membrane sooner soo, idk? And if you collect RO waste water like I do (could never use the drain mount kit for RO, imho it is a sin to waste water like that, you can still use it to flush the toilet at least!!!) for example, mainly for watering plants that like hard water, not a single drop is wasted and you'll get 1000ml filtered water in a minute instead of 600.
