I got this because some of my computers don’t have a cd or dvd reader / writer. My primary need is to read older cds and it functions well for that. It was easy to plug in and get going, compatible on my older Windows 10 computer. The usb connected easily, but there were only certain slots that would work. I suspect some of my old tower usb connections are not powered and some are. It’s compact and feels well built. I didn’t try the Write function because I didn’t need it.
