The media could not be loaded. I really loved how the shell had turned out eXtremeRate never disappoints with there quality and attention to detail. I see a lot of bad reviews talking about the install is too hard or the shell doesn’t fit good. I would not recommend to buy the full shell swap if you can’t follow a video review eXtremeRate has on there YouTube channel. Just a reminder there is a ton of small parts so keep that in mind if you’re going to do the install. I probably did around 6 controller swaps, tips I can give, just take or time make sure you dont skip any steps and follow there video and you should be good. Read more
I very much like this kit. The cost is worth it in my opinion, and the installation video is very helpful. The control feels normal in my hand and looks way better than the OEM Edge case. The difference in the buttons finish aren’t noticeable to me. The kit comes with lots of extra screws and a couple extra springs in case you lose a few, which could be pretty easy considering how small these bits are. I didn’t change the touchpad as it was a bit more involved — I didn’t really feel like pulling out a heat gun to loosen the adhesive. I also didn’t change the R1 R2/L1 L2 triggers because it seemed tedious. This isn’t a complaint though - this was a decision I made because my hands are shaky and my vision isn’t great. The controller still looks awesome with the black triggers and touchpad. I have 2 complaints which is why I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5: I ordered translucent purple and got the translucent black kit. I went ahead and did the swap because I’ve been excited and didn’t want to have to wait to return this for a replacement. Also — the instruction video shows working with some very fine tweezers. While I realize this isn’t shown in the product description, I wouldn’t have minded spending an extra couple dollars for it to be included. They would’ve been helpful. Read more
Really turned out great. Yes it took some time to do and was a bit frustrating at times but I don’t get the reviews saying it’s prone to breaking you just have to make sure to align the parts correctly and it snaps together well and is very sturdy. I did everything but the buttons because I prefer that look and pieced together another bottom plate set to make it even more custom. Overall it’s a great kit and very high quality you just have to take your time. Read more
Great fit. Bought a used Dualsense Edge and do this shell swap. Took roughly about 40 mins overall very pleased. I’ve used their kits before for my Steamdeck. Read more
It looks good but good luck with the back plate. I've went through 2 of them and they both couldnt be installed correctly. The tabs are very brittle and snap very easily while carefully trying to install it. Would not recommend this product based off that. It's not solid due to the broken tabs. Read more
Great kit by extremrate as usual. The only difficult part is swapping out the r2 l2 triggers. Much finger pain and frustation later i was able to move on haha. I would have a good screw driver kit and some plastic spudgers on hand to make this easier. Also get yourself a magnetic parts tray. I lost one of the dual sense edge trigger springs in my room and there are no replacements for it online. Its different than the traditional dual sense trigger spring too. Otherwise 10/10 kit. It still holding up great all these months later. Read more
