The one I ordered got stolen off my porch since then I bought one on eBay and it’s an awesome product as long as you got to know how not too hard to install. If you don’t have a soldering iron or ability to solder, you won’t get to remap the L3, R3 or the pad button which are not exactly necessary I mean, why would you remap the button for a map or a melee in most games? Turned my regular DualSense into the ultimate pro controller for $40 — insane value! If you’ve ever looked at a Scuf, Victrix, or Razer “pro” PS5 controller and thought “$200–$300 just to get back buttons??”… stop right there. This eXtremeRate RISE4 kit is the answer. You keep 100 % of the original DualSense magic — adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, built-in mic, speaker, everything — and you just gain four excellent back paddles. No compromises. Installation: Yeah, you have to open the controller (25–40 minutes if you take your time). Watch the official YouTube video once or twice and you’ll be fine. It’s not hard, just requires a little patience and a steady hand. Tools are included, and everything snaps together nicely. No soldering needed for the paddles to work perfectly (only if you want to map L3/R3 later). Pros: Four perfectly placed, clicky back buttons Keeps ALL DualSense features intact (unlike literally every $250 pro controller) Rubberized grips feel way better than stock Costs less than a night out instead of a car payment Cons: The replacement back shell plastic feels a bit cheaper than OEM (still totally solid, just not quite Sony-level premium) Double-check your controller model (BDM-010/020 vs newer ones) or you’ll order the wrong kit I’ve installed five of these now — one on my main controller and the rest for friends — and every single person is blown away. For forty bucks you get something that plays better than any official “elite” controller on the market. Absolute no-brainer. Just buy it, thank me later. Read more

even though it was a little more of an in-depth install, the guide made it very easy. I also paired it with the hair triggers from the same company, as well as the swappable thumb sticks. makes for a very good and more budget alternative to something like a scuf controller. Read more

I bought this primarily because I was sick of having to take my thumb off of the right stick to dodge in Bloodborne. It was easy enough to install going by the manufacturer’s YouTube channel, which they provide a link to in the box. Thing is, the buttons and paddles are far too sensitive. It barely takes any pressure to click them, and there’s no good place to rest your middle and ring fingers when it’s installed. What I ended up doing is taking off the back buttons (the ones next to the programming button) and sticking some paper from a watch instruction manual in their place to protect the circuit board. Then, I literally cut up a plastic straw from I think Wendy’s and taped some pieces under the paddles. An imperfect and likely temporary solution, but I can at least rest my fingers where the buttons were (and the switches are still there to press so no functionality is lost) and I’m not constantly activating the paddles. As far as I can tell, there were no instructions in the box or on the YouTube channel for how to program buttons. To do this, hold the middle button (the program button) for a few seconds until the red light on the back turns on. Hold the rear button and the button you want to assign until the light flashes. Then, press the program button again. Easy enough, but not intuitive with no directions imo. Since the remapping is done on a hardware level inside of the controller, the buttons will still be assigned even if you use the controller on PC or anywhere else. Otherwise it’s very good. It’s a little cumbersome to remap buttons since it’s not like there’s a way to set up profiles or anything, so you need to remap every time you switch games. It also adds some heft to the controller. This is not so good imo because I like to use the DS5 on PC with the gyroscope on for shooters, and the extra weight makes holding the controller off of my lap and twisting it around and stuff less comfortable, but it’s livable. Overall it’s a good product, but I think at the very least you’ll have to use some kind of spacer for the paddles and figure out a new way to rest your fingers on the back unless you take out the buttons like I did. Just use chopsticks to eat your gamer doritos so you don’t gunk up the paper. Read more

These extreme rate kits are amazing!!! This little kit basically allows you to turn a stock dual sense into a dual sense edge for super cheap! My only complaints are that the back buttons are super sensitive, and if you're watching media on your console, you might accidentally activate a button messing with the watching experience. I'd highly recommend this product to anyone wanting a pro controller, at a fraction of the price. Was very easy to install too!!! Read more

This eXtremeRate remap kit completely transforms the feel of my controller. The starlight blue rubberized shell looks amazing and feels super comfortable to hold. Installation took some patience, but the instructions were clear and everything fit perfectly. The remap buttons work flawlessly — great for customizing controls in games. Definitely worth it for anyone wanting a pro-style PS5 controller without spending a fortune! Read more
