The media could not be loaded. I have gone through a lot of tape measures, and this FastCap ProCarpenter is easily my favorite so far. Solid build without being bulky, and the left/right markings are way more useful than I expected. Measuring from either side is fast and easy. I HATED counting fraction lines or even trying to see them now that I am older. I am not a daily carpenter - just a woman who thinks she can build a few things. The blade has a 96-inch standout, stays rigid, and retracts smoothly without snapping back. The built-in pencil sharpener and notepad sound gimmicky but are actually more handy than I had realized it would be. Bottom line: smart design, accurate, and clearly made by people who use tools. I will buy another so I have one for each space in my house. Read more
This FastCap ProCarpenter is hands-down the best tape measure I’ve owned. The build quality feels solid and durable, and the standout feature is the lefty/righty markings — I didn’t realize how useful that would be until I started using it. Whether I’m measuring from the left or right, the numbers are always easy to read. The blade is sturdy, has great standout length, and retracts smoothly without snapping back too fast. The built-in pencil sharpener and notepad are surprisingly handy — nice little touches that make it perfect for shop or jobsite work. Tip: Keep a spare pencil with it — you’ll actually find yourself using the tiny note pad more than you think. Overall, FastCap really nailed it with this one. Smart design, accurate, and built to last. I’ll be sticking with this brand from now on. Read more
This one has a LOT of first-class features. It's like a $40 measure, but for about a quarter of the price. I can't speak as to durability, but it feels and acts like high-quality. Brake button, sharpener, thump tab on the belt clip, super easy to read at any angle, soft rubber outer casing, whiteboard, oversized thumb brake slide lever and a bit lighter than my other pro 25' tape measure are all great features. My favorites are the readability of the tape, button brake and the tab on belt clip. I added photos showing all the special features. Due to the great value, this measure is an easy pick for most purposes. A runaway best choice. And the 16' version is a couple of dollars less. If 16' will suffice for max length, that's a good option as it will be much lighter. Read more
This is a quality tape measure. The fractions are clearly printed on the tape and best of all the measurements read from both directions - there is no upside down. I have made mistakes more than once reading a tape upside down. The pencil sharpener is a bonus and "note pad" on the side are appreciated also. Read more
I’ve had them all, DEWALT, lurking, Milwaukee, craftsman, and on and on. None can beat this little guy for what it is. Easy to read, reliably works in tough conditions and packed with extra features. I am pretty tough on tapers and am constantly trying to find a better one. I’ve had this one for two major projects now and it is still performing well. I built a 600sqft floating deck with pressure treated lumber and am currently installing a 450, paver stone patio. In both cases the tape has been performing beautifully. Both environments have been dirty weather saw dust, crushed granite, or sand. This tape has been dropped from heights of 8’ and I’ve retracted the tape through PT wood saw dust and leveling sand. It still retracts like the day o bought it. As for the bonus features that I like the most, I’m always guessing at the actual measurements because I’m not the greatest at mental math and this tape labels each and every tick mark on the tape in both directions left and right. Talk about easy to read! I also love the writing surface in the side of the tape to write the measurements with pencil. There is even a pencil sharpener on the side. Thankfully I switching to a pica style long tip mechanical pencil so I can use the sharpener. Would not work for a carpenter pencil. Not that that matters since I also reach for my knife to sharpen those anyways. If I had a wish list, i with the foot markers were a little more bold or perhaps a different color. And I wish the buckle on the side was slightly bigger to make it easier to hook onto my tool belt clip. I would highly recommend this tape! I have bought tapes 4 times this price that kicked the bucket long before this little guy. For the price, I am going to buy a couple more to keep around for when I inevitably bust this one. Read more
The FastCap PSSR25 tape measure is a good tape measure with several features that make it stand out in the market. It has a compact design and a sturdy build quality, with a durable nylon blade coating that helps to prevent wear and tear over time. One of the standout features of the FastCap PSSR25 tape measure is its patented Fastpad feature, which allows you to quickly and easily jot down measurements on a notepad attached to the back of the tape measure. This can be a useful feature for those who need to take many measurements in a short amount of time. However, when compared to the Milwaukee tape measure, the FastCap PSSR25 falls a bit short in terms of overall performance and accuracy. The Milwaukee tape measure features a reinforced frame and a stronger blade that allows it to withstand heavy use and abuse. It also has a wider standout distance and is more accurate over longer distances. While the FastCap PSSR25 is a good tape measure, it may not be the best option for those who require the highest level of accuracy and durability. If you're looking for a tape measure that can withstand heavy use and abuse and offer superior accuracy, the Milwaukee tape measure may be a better option for you. Read more
