This is a HEAVY jacket with ventilation at the chest/bicep/kidney/wrist. The wind can get past the zipped gussets at the wrists, but I think that's to be expected. It has shoulder/elbow armor pockets. It is really nice quality and gets comments and looks. The inner liner is warm. It is mostly on size, maybe a little generous. An XL feels like an XL. The side pockets are zippered. The holster is OK and should suit your EDC needs in a jacket just fine - not too much of a silhouette showing through, but you do have to unzip to access it - the inside pockets have two nice/solid buttons each. Our winters are relatively mild with brutal summers. I'm hoping the ventilation will let me go deep into the summer. The snap back mandarin collar is really nice. Overall great value for the quality - just get it. Read more

If you are in the market for a high quality leather riding jacket then look no further. First Mfg was unknown to me until a few weeks ago when I was simply reading blogs about riding gear, as I recently got back into riding. Everyone kept saying to buy Alpinestar, Icon or Joe Rocket. I really didn't want a flashy blinged out jacket with advertising all over it. This is were I found First. The jackets are extremely high quality. Thick leather, expertly sewn with brilliant vent and pocket placement. The Top performer is a great jacket. Sizing can be a little funky but I think that's the same no matter the brand. I am 6' 175 with an athletic build. The small was tight and the medium was perfect with the liner in and ever so slightly big with it zipped out. It makes a perfect choice for the everyday rider on a sport bike or a standard cruiser. I also really love the new Chaos jacket but it is cut much slimmer so the medium fit like a small. The large fit me nicely. Read more

This is a great jacket. I ordered the Large size. I'm 6' 4" tall, 210 lbs and normally wear a 44 Long suit coat jacket. The jacket fits great. I have long arms and this jacket still works. Very great quality jacket that is well made. Doesn't come with any body armor but it does have pockets for armor in the elbows, shoulders and back. I was able to take the armor from my previous jacket and put them in these pockets. Venting on the jacket is pretty good. If you live in a very hot climate, I probably wouldn't recommend this jacket. As long as you're moving the venting works. Thanks First MFG Co for an awesome leather jacket at a great price! Read more

So I gave this jacket a 5 star review for the quality and feel of this jacket. However, I ordered a 4XL, I received a 2XL, and 3XL would have fit perfect I bet. Beware there is also a price difference between the 4XL and a 2XL. Believe it or not the 2XL is more money than the 4XL. So I am not sure if you need to order by price or size? Anywhere else you search to buy this jacket the price goes up for the 3 larger sizes, not down as on Amazon. Anyway, it is a nice coat, when I lose my Covid-40, I will fit into fine, in the mean time I am on the hunt for another jacket. Sadly not from First Mfg Co, because I do not know what I am going to get, Update, I sold the 2X, I see they fixed pricing, and I ended up ordering a 3XL. The jacket was just as nice as the first one and it showed up correctly this time, a 3XL and fits great. Read more

I purchased a First Mfg 'Turbine' jacket a week ago for summer riding and am super happy with it! I'm 5' 6" and ~160 pounds, so I went with a size 'small' and it fit like a glove! I was very happy with the jacket at the price point, so I went ahead and ordered the First Mfg 'Top Performer' also in size 'small' expecting it to be the same size. It was not. In the pictures, I have both jackets zipped and as flat as I could reasonably get (though I do have armor in my Turbine) with the Turbine laying on top of the Top Performer. You can clearly see the Top Performer is much bigger in every dimension - probably closer to a traditional 'large' if I were to guess. In the mirror pics, the Top Performer has significantly longer sleeves and just overall more 'baggy' (shoulders, arms, etc). The Top Performer does have a removeable liner where the Turbine does not, but that doesn't even come close to making up the difference. The quality of the jacket was top notch and well made. It had good leather, no manufacturing blemishes that I found, plenty of pockets/vents, and had armor pockets too. I did not have any reason to believe it was inferior to any other jacket. It's definitely a solid deal if you're a good bit larger than I am and pay attention to sizing. Unfortunately, it seems a 'small' is the smallest they make the Top Performer, so it doesn't look like I'll be able to get one that fits me. Read more

I really like this Jacket, it seemed heavy when I took it out of the package. It has thick leather, but it feels already broken in. fits great. I take a medium in most jackets and this is right on for size. The liner is not bulky and zips out easily. I think this is the best jacket I have ever bought. stitched well.. no loose thread anywhere I can see. Kept me warm for a 2 hour ride at 61F I am happy with this. : ) Read more

Was very impressed especially with the price This Jacket is well made and very thick. If you are adding armor you may need to trim to fit / the armor pockets are small As far as sizing it was true to the chart provided ( make sure you measure chest and waist - at belly button- as shown ) I have not put any fire arm in the provided pockets but it appears that you could fit a full size 1911 / or Glock with no issue in each of the pockets (2) + in each pocket there is an elastic pocket that appears it could hold an extra magazine in each. lol not sure who really needs this feature but if this is important to you it is an additional option -- good luck!
