Very pleased with this camera so far. Picture quality is amazing, and the installation takes less than 30 minutes. It has no visible wires and plugs into the existing wiring harness with the supplied pigtail for a custom fit. Really a nice camera so much better than other manufacturers that glue or suction cup to the windshield. Pros: -Fit and finish are excellent and packaging is top notch. -The black plastic shroud snapped right into place just like the original. -Looks OEM - cannot tell it is even there. -Works seamlessly. -Image quality is good. -App is easy to use and not too complex with a myriad of options like some cameras. Cons: -Installation could be made a LOT easier with installation instructions. The professional packaging and fit and finish of the product do not match the virtually complete lack of installation instructions. Instructions included were on 1 very small and illegible piece of pager that were hardly informative and even inaccurate for my model. They give you a nice piece of paper as instructions for the app (in about 8 different languages) but basically nothing for the install. Even looking on the internet I found little info or info that was incorrect. First of all, on my 2020 RTL-E, no screws had to be removed from the overhead console and no yanking down on the outer trim piece was needed. The only thing that had to come out was black switch and lens housing which only needed some persuasion with a plastic pry tool to remove which exposed the wire harness. Secondly, once the wire harness and camera are all connected, you will need to push the wire bundle to the BACK of the console near the fold down mirror. If you push it forward, it will NOT fit and the switch and lens housing will not go back. There is room towards the back - just enough and even then you will likely need to use your fist to snap the housing back it. This is critical because one would think you would want the bundle exactly where it was found when you pulled it down - not so. Push it to the back and your install will go a lot smoother. Should take less than 30 minutes with these 2 critical installation notes. -The LEDs are not visible in daylight and hardly visible at night and the rearview mirror blocks them from the driver. -The microSD card is hard to remove - need to carry tweezers if you plan to swap cards out a lot. March 31, 2025: iPhone app will not connect. I troubleshot for a while. Did your basic on/off, uninstall/install & Bluetooth disconnect. I tried all different configurations to no avail. Yes, blue light in on and blinking the whole time. Spend about an hour with WhatsApp chat help. He had me try a few more things. Tried to tell me my iOS isn’t updated. Yes, it is. I asked him what the next step is bc it’s not connecting. Radio silence. I texted him a few hours later. He’s a ghost. I went on the website and connected with “live help” which is a computer. Asked for a human. They said they would connect. No human available for hours the message said. I tried again. Same message. If they contact me and it’s helpful before I disassemble and return, I will update post. March 30, 2025: Just installed this in my 2023 Honda Ridgeline XLT-E. It took me about 20 minutes. I watched YouTube vids and read reviews prior to installation. Yes, there are two hidden screws that the directions to not tell you about. You have to pop off the entire light lens area to get to them. It is all one area - not just the two lens caps. I went slowly loosening up each side little by little. Taking the housing around the rearview mirror off was easy. Another reviewer suggested to look at the clips on the new housing unit. Then take the mini plastic crow bar and gently pop open those matching areas. No struggle at all. Mine came off smoother than the companies YouTube video. Besides the two hidden screws, the directions are a little vague with electrical attachment. You will remove the gray clip, insert it into the new harness clip. Then take the other end of the harness clip and insert it into the light box unit where the original gray clip was. I screwed in the casing (that houses the eye glass holder) in with the four screws. Then I took my time to hide/slide in the wiring harness lines. Don’t rush this. You will see slots where it can be slide in to. The light lens box slides and snaps right in. All connected very smoothly to my iPhone 13. I waited until i was connected with the app before i snapped in the small cover plate that clips on over the rear view mirror. I felt that that would have given me an issue if i had to take all of it off bc it didn’t work. It snapped easily into position. Let’s see how it works from here. If something happens that i don’t like, i will update my review. I was in a massive car accident a couple years ago. If I had a dash cam, the driver who hit me wouldn’t have had the chance to drag it out (he claimed it wasn't his fault). That will not happen again! Where I live there seems to be an uptick on hit and runs. This dash cam will turn on, record and save if the vehicle is hit when parked too. I hope I won’t need to review a video for that! Installation was different than the video. The overhead panel has 4 screws instead of the two shown in the video. Uou have to pry the dome lifht/sun roof panel off to gain access to the other two screws. They need a new video for the 2026 Ridgeline. Read more
Took about 20 minutes to install. So far it works great and it looks like it came factory installed. No extra wires to worry about. Search for "Fitcamx Honda Ridgeline" on YouTube to see the video I made about it. Highly recommended. Read more
