I’m a big matcha lover and this FKRO ceremonial matcha seriously impressed me. The texture is incredibly smooth and creamy, with rich umami flavor and absolutely no bitterness. You can tell it’s high quality just by the vibrant green color and how well it froths. It tastes great on its own with hot water or as a latte with milk and a little vanilla. Super fresh, easy to mix, and feels like something you’d get at a specialty café — but for only $26, which is honestly amazing for this level of quality. I am obsessed with this matcha because it has 1. the most beautiful deep grass green color (see image), 2. the texture is perfectly creamy, and 3. you have the best deep flavor of umami. I recently tried the FKRO 30g Ceremonial Grade Matcha tin and found it to be a very solid entry-level option. At approximately $29 after tax, it is priced very competitively for a 1st harvest, single-origin product from Uji. While it isn't the most bold or punchy matcha I’ve ever tasted, it is very smooth and lacks any harsh bitterness. Because the flavor is a bit more on the mild side, I think it’s an excellent choice for someone who wants a high-quality daily matcha that doesn't feel overwhelming. first off, i never leave reviews for literally anything i buy. since there are no other matchas in stock like ippodo etc., i wanted to try one from amazon that i could get reliably and at a good price. i’m not a matcha expert but i do love visiting matcha spots and finding the best ones. when i opened the tin i saw a very vibrant green and the powder itself smelled so good! i prepared a latte using agave and oatmilk (not sure on the ratio i used) but the green color stuck out and i did not taste any bitterness. it’s a pretty floral yet nutty matcha if you’re into that. i’m not sure how it tastes as an usucha because i was just too excited to make my latte. overall it was very creamy and the microfoam layer was beautiful. i will be using this as my new daily matcha as i continue to try and catch restocks from other brands :p. please give this matcha a try if you’re looking for a great affordable one for daily and beginner use!
