I've always been a fan of leather cases, but they are typically rather expensive; and I always doubted the quality of cheaper cases. Here, I was proven wrong. There are some drawbacks, but they're appropriate for the price. The leather does not appear to be real. If it is, it's been highly processed past the exact appearance or smell of genuine leather. However, the feel is not far off. The red color is bold and beautiful, and the leather texture is satisfying to the touch, and there's a firm padding behind it that gives it the heft of quality. The stitching is fairly tight and precise, and I like the little window in the middle for the apple logo, which I've always felt is too beautiful to hide. I also like the built-in stand. It stays closed with a magnet, and its profile is flush with the phone, meaning it never catches or flies open unintentionally, and you forget it's there until you need it. The black panel, when retracted, lends a certain modern accent I appreciated. The only drawback may be the angle, which is a little low and may reflect ceiling lights. It only opens to one setting; but once open it's extremely stable and will right itself if knocked over. The ridge around the camera cluster, like any good case, raises the lenses off the surface you've set the phone down on, keeping them from getting scratched. The rest of the plastic sleeve is durable and fits the phone snugly. The quality is highest on the back of the phone. However, there is no padding inside the phone - only the bare plastic. This isn't a dealbreaker for me, but some may prefer the security of knowing the case is less likely to scratch the phone. The edges of the case also show slightly lower quality. The leather strips are glued instead of stitched, and the vented button covers look and feel slightly cheap. An added bonus was the wrist leash, which connects to an attachment point that could be easily swapped out with phone charms. The case also includes a surprisingly thick screen protector, as well as the cleaning and application stickers needed to install it. The product comes in a fairly utilitarian box, and you may want to secure your own gift box if buying it as a present for someone. The phone seems to charge just fine through mag chargers, but some other wallets that do not contain an independent magnet may not stick to it. It does not come with a wallet or any card slots like some nicer leather cases, but there are a lot of aftermarket card pockets that can attach to the magsafe attachment point. Overall, this is an excellent leather-style case for the price. This would look great on your phone at a fancy restaurant or around the office - it really does look sharp and professional, and it goes well with the apple aesthetic. I probably would have paid slightly more for this case and still been satisfied. I like leather. Red isn’t my usual preference but this time it was. The aptly named iPhone 16 Pro Max Leather Case works for me. It is available in a choice of colors. My taste says that it is aesthetically appealing and functional. The Magsafe feature works well and it sticks like glue to my car mount. The magnet is seriously strong. The kickstand is useful and supports the phone in landscape and portrait mode. When I lay my phone on the charger, it charges wirelessly. The cutouts for buttons are perfectly aligned. I have used other cases that are described as “Military Grade” or “Tactical”. The build quality of this case is excellent and appears to offer the same or better protection than those associated with military grade nonsense. Got this case to replace an older case that was turning yellowish. This one fits well, looks good and the leather gives it a softer touch. It's well padded and I would assume will keep it safe from accidental falls. One of the reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because the kickstand doesn't keep in place because as soon as I let go it will fall flat. The other reason is that although it is Magsafe compatible it somehow charges much slower than my other case. I think that it might be the thickness of the leather, good for protection but not for Magsafe charging. Read more
