I’ve used the cheap plastic versions of wrist rollers at the gym before, but I decided to pick this one up for my home gym setup. I am honestly surprised by how much better it feels. Just a heads up, this is just the roller and strap. You need to have your own loading pin or a kettlebell/dumbbell to attach to it. It wasn't a dealbreaker for me since I have weights, but good to know. If you want to blow up your forearms, this is the best tool for it. It’s simple, well-built, and the wood finish looks great. Highly recommended for anyone serious about grip strength! Read more
This forearm strengthener feels sturdy and well built right out of the box. The handle has a solid grip, and the long nylon strap feels very durable and strong even when loaded with heavier weight. The attachment length is great because it allows for a full range of motion without feeling rushed or cramped during reps. Everything feels secure while rolling, which is important when adding more resistance. It has been a great tool for building grip and forearm strength, especially as a supplement to regular lifting. Simple design, but it does exactly what it is supposed to do. It works well at home or in the gym and does not take up much space. Overall, a reliable piece of equipment that delivers results without feeling cheap. Read more
What a simple-yet-effective thing to add to your home gym! This forearm exerciser is just a strap attached to a wooden bar, and it’s remarkably useful! You can strap on pretty much any weight plate or dumbbell to it and get a great workout for your forearms. Another great feature is that it takes up very little space in my home gym. I’ve wanted something like this for a long time now, and this thing is exactly what I’d hoped for. While the wood is smooth and strong, I still prefer to wear gloves while using this product. I don’t think I’ll get splinters anytime soon, but with gloves, I am pretty much 100% sure that will not be a problem. Read more
Almost forty years ago, a family friend created one of these for me by drilling a hole through a steel pipe and attaching a strong rope. I lost it long ago, but have really needed something to strengthen my forearms as I've hit a new stage of aging. I've been meaning to create one the old-fashioned way for years, but I never have the right piece of tubing/pipe handy when I have access to both a drill press and the right bit. When I saw this version on Amazon, I was a little skeptical about whether wood and a strap would be up to doing the job, but I was willing to give it a try. Overall, I think it's a decent piece of equipment for the price. Honestly, it doesn't feel as good in hand as the old pipe, but I do appreciate how light it is when it's time to put it away. I don't have to worry about a rusty edge catching the side of a piece of furniture. The strap is also strong enough for the type of weight I'll put on this thing. If I were younger, I don't know if I'd feel the same way, but other reviewers seem to be putting it to the test. I like the screw link on the end of the strap. It feels like a secure choice and it opens up easily with a few twists. The slit through the dowel is slim and seems to preserve the strength of the wood grain to the greatest degree possible. Better than the round hole I would have put through it, if I'd thought to use wood. I don't love the feel of the unfinished wood, though. It does help the grip, but I'm not confident about how that will wear over time. I'm considering adding grip tape, even though I know that will reduce some of the grip strength enhanced by the lighter traction of the wood surface. This is what leads me to knock a star off. Overall, if you're looking to strengthen forearms, wrists, and grip without keeping a giant bucket of rice around, this is still worth buying. Even if you could take this version and fashion your own (I know I *could have*), you're probably better off just making the purchase and spending that time rolling up your weight of choice. This forearm and wrist strengthener is exactly what you'd expect, and it does the job well. It's a pretty simple design, and there are lots of similar versions out there. This one works great with its integrated strap and clip. I've been using it for a while now, and it feels like it will last decades with regular use. It's easy to hook up to different things, and the strap feels really strong and durable. The wood handle is a little rough, nothing a quick sanding doesn't fix every now and then. It's super easy to use and love feeling the burn in the forearms along with the bonus shoulders if you hold it out too. I've been using it with an adjustable dumbbell, which has been awesome. Overall, I'm really happy with it. If you can get it for under $20, even better, because when you really think about how simple it is, the price might seem a bit high. But honestly it works so well that it's worth it. Read more
This forearm roller is a great add to my home gym. I actually focus on wrists the same as I do for other body parts. Leg day. Arm day. Wrist day!!! Ok I they don’t actually get their own day, but they are a scheduled exercise group. That being said, the few exercises I have for wrists were getting stale. Enter the wrist roller. This thing is perfect. It’s well made with a sanded beechwood handle, strong nylon strap (think seatbelt) and stainless steel carabiner-like link. The link screws open and closed, allowing you to thread it through a weight plate or around a dumbbell and then screw it shut. The nylon strap attaches to a cutout in the wooden handle and then loops around itself where it is solidly stitched together. Not sure of the actual weight capacity as I’ve only used it with a 5 pound plate. But it feels strong enough to handle more than that. For $20, I’d say it’s a pretty solid product that will hopefully last for a while. Worth a try if you want to build grip strength or otherwise strengthen your wrists/forearms. Read more
