Excellent filter unit. Simplicity of installation of course is going to vary on your location and how fit your back is. I purchased two of these. One for my indoor refridgerator and the other for my garage refridgerator with the purpose of filtering the ice and water dispensers on both. The garage filter was super easy to install as I had lots of room to work. Zero leaks on completion. I installed the filter for my kitchen fridge inside my food pantry as installation behind the fridge would make the fridge stand out another 6" from the wall and take up more space. It was very easy to for me (not my back) to drill two 3/8" holes in the wall, run the 1/4" nylon tubes and connect them to the filter, again, zero leaks. Frizzlife is very generous with the amount of tubing they provide as well as the various brass fittings to adapt to your particular install-my only peeve was that they only give you one 90 degree brass attachment to use on either the source or filtered side of the filter, two would have been ideal. I don't get the leak issues people have . Use the teflon tape provided. Make sure you tighten your fittings snugly. Slowly turn on your water after installation. Check for leaks. See a leak, simply tighten your connections a little more. I like the idea that the filter lasts two years. I plane on changing them out every year as well as the internal fridge filters which I've been changing every six months. I did not have an issue with smells from my water or taste. Mainly issues with my ice makers. Hopefully using a prefilter ahead of the fridge filter keeps the ice maker "happier" and not making me constantly change out expensive fridge filters. Btw, I also have a Frizzlife water filtration system under my sink that works amazing as well. Highly recommend this company for their prices and quality of their products. Read more

I used it to attach to the water line to my ice maker in my fridge. My fridge does not have a built in filter so I have to attach it to the outside waterline. Set up is easy if you know what youre doing. My ice does taste cleaner so I think the filter does work. Before the ice would have a metal taste but now it doesnt. Read more

The best thing is the ease of installation. No complicated steps, all parts needed (even extra pieces for different installation situations) are there. Nothing missing. I even changed the full pex line to my fridge since a good piece of pex came with it. MAKE SUREYOU DRAIN THE FILTER BRFORE YOU ATTACH IT TO THE FRIDGE . Let the water run in you sink for at least 5 minutes, 10 is even better. Durability is another story, I cannot attest to that, still too early, but from the looks of it it is a quality product Read more

I bought this because the $45 RFID chip-enabled filters that GE requires in our refrigerator only work about 10 days before the water slows to a trickle. I already have a 5 micron filter before the fridge but apparently that isn't enough. My hope is that adding this 0.5 micron Frizzlife filter will help the fridge filter work longer. I can't complain about the installation, it only takes a few minutes. The unit seems solidly constructed. So far, no leaks. What I wasn't expecting is how large the installed format is. The filter plus housing is a full 5 1/2 inches deep. For many of us, the only possible installation is on the wall behind the fridge, and now our fridge sticks out almost a half foot from the wall into our tiny kitchen instead of the 2 inches it did before. If I had known that installing this filter would cause our fridge to jut out so far into the kitchen I probably wouldn't have bought it. But that's my bad for not doing more research. In my opinion they need to offer a unit with a longer filter and more slender format for behind-the-fridge friendly installs. Read more

My brand new 9-month-old LG refrigerator sprung a leak at the water dispenser immediately after changing the factory OEM water filter on it, after a lengthy exchange with a factory rep, he told me that the water pressure was too low, and that I would have to call either a plumber, or a technician to find out where the problem lied, I checked the water pressure to the refrigerator, it was 70#, and discovered when I removed the OEM water filter, the leak stopped, so, I gambled and determined that I would try this inline filter, and mounted it under the kitchen sink, and hooked it directly into the water supply line running to the refrigerator, and as another poster did on this same filter, I made several modifications when I mounted this filter, including using braided tubing on both ends of the filter, along with the installation of a tee, and a shut-off valve in order to flush the filter, the price of these filters is less than half of the standard OEM filters that the refrigerator calls for, and lasts 4 times longer, not to mention, they filter out more impurities, the ice is crystal clear, the dispenser water tastes exceptionally well, the only thing that I might take exception to is, being practically an octogenarian, with a plethora of health issues, it took a lot longer to install than it would have had I been 30 years younger, having said that, I'm very pleased with this purchase, and happy that it was simple to install, water flow is good, no leaks, and water tastes great, if you're like me, and prefer to save money, I highly recommend this filter.
